Product Description

Book Description

Leonard Ravenhill’s call to revival is as timely now as it was when first published over forty years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill 'a man sent from God' who 'appeared at [a] critical moment in history,' just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study. Ravi Zacharias refers to this as 'the book that shaped me...more dramatically than any other...'

one of seven? 2 Nov 2008
By Prolific Reader TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Ravenhill knew how to write and was passionate about God and revival - this is one of, i think, seven books that he wrote about revival as i have all of them and they are all equally good and worth the read, though inevitablly there is some overlap.

As in all books he is straight to the point and has a clever way with words with rhyming sentences - not poetry, but important phrases that make you reflect on what is written.

The book is a clarion call to the Church. WAKE UP SLEEPY CHURCH AND ARISE. AwakeNow.co.uk - Jesus is Lord.

Why Revival Tarries 2 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
This book is a must read for any Christian who has ever been worth their salt! Although written in the late fifties, and described as being a book of its time, a read of this book today is enlightening. The world disintegrates by the hour and there seems to be no antidote to the rot that has set in. Church leaders seemed either hamstrung or moribund when it comes to voicing an opinion over the dilemma facing us all. For the twenty five years of my own redemption the cry of 'When oh when Lord will you bring revival?' has echoed through the portals of churches around the globe. God has always seemed absent. Is it simply that He has turned His face away? Leonard Ravenhill has not not only explained 'why' in 'Why revival Tarries' but throughout the book he issues stern warnings to a church on the brink of apostasy. The message is, without doubt, God given and very much for today.
