* An eagerly anticipated follow-up to the highly-acclaimed "Steal Away", Kent's first volume of the complete surviving Fame recordings of Jimmy Hughes from 2009.
* "Why Not Tonight" embraces this Alabama-born soul man's original Fame/Atlantic album of that title, seven non-album As and Bs and three originally unissued sides - two of which make their worldwide debut here.
* It was on these recordings that the celebrated Muscle Shoals sound really began to take shape and to define an era in Southern soul music.
* A mix of ultra high quality ballads and a raft of splendid dance cuts, many of which have remained unreissued for more than 40 years.

More Superlative Soul from a Master,

Following on from their first Jimmy Hughes cd 'Steal Away' this is another really excellent soul offering from Ace Records. There's every reason to pick this sequel up as it also has first class material and an excellent illustrtaed booklet. This guy was so underrated, had a great voice and used great material.
The good news is that a third cd has been released by Ace covering all of his Volt label recordings. Highly recommended.

Just like the first volume, this amazing Kent CD starts with the 10 track second album ("Why Not Tonight?") and fills in with the remainding singles-only and unreleased tracks:
