Well, the title says it all really. I'm sure those of you into the ska punk scene will know all about these guys already, but this album (ok, and perhaps "Pezcore" by Less Than Jake) in my opinion define true ska punk perfection. There are, of course, other more "underground" ska bands to tickle your fancy (Voodoo Glow Skulls, King Prawn and Buck-O-Nine stand out in particular) but Reel Big Fish manage to blast ska punk into that cool musical limbo between being hardly known and being far too well-known. I can't effectively describe the music on this album, but trust me, EVERY track is a winner. From "The Set-Up (You Need This)" which boasts horns, killer riffs, and the obligatory whiney lyrics, to "Song #3" which is so laid back, it's almost horizontal (oh, and don't forget the hilarious bonus jamming session right at the end of the last track).
Reel Big Fish are one of those bands that know they've got something special, and they just want to share it with you! Buy this album, and I guarantee it will introduce you to a world where catchy lyrics and brass instruments rule, and no-one looks stupid skanking to them.

I've had this album for a while, and never really rated it against favourites such as 'Cheer up'. But since I bought 'We're not Happy til you're not Happy', this album has come onto my playlist afterwards, and I thought to myself, 'Wow, this is better than the new stuff, this is the best EVER'... I love the instrument solo in 'Victory over Peter Bones', I've probably listened to that song twice as much as the rest, because it is simply "beauutiful". This album is, to quote one of the new songs; "so A-W-E-S-O-M-E".

This albulm perhaps lacks the stand out tracks you get on their latest albulm, cheer up, however it still works well as a whole. The feeling is a bit darker than other RBF albulms and the music tends to be a bit heavier, faster and more on edge. This means it there isn't such a contrast between the traditionally dark lyrics ("you never supported us all you wanted was to see us fail" etc) and the usually upbeat ska mellodies as on other albulms. However, its still undeniably Reel Big Fish and their laid back, yet angst ridden take on life and outstanding musicality shine through.

Well this album was released years ago in america, they never did release any in England but now with the success of 'favourite noise' and 'cheer up' they decided to release their previous albums and i can say you will not be dissapointed at all with this album. Light rock mixed with bright brass. Ska is often ignored as bein a waste of time but is very rythmic and uplifting. alot of the tracks on this album are catchy and have lyrics that will entertain however many times you listen to them!
