Fact or Fiction?,

This review is from: Whose Side Are You On? (Paperback)
An entertaining read but several basic inaccuracies made me doubt the truth of anything that was news to me. Even after some 30 years out of Northern Ireland I think I would remember what motorway went towards my hometown, where the Shankill is and that Coalisland has no railway line and, if it had, it would not be on the Coleraine / Larne route. Cliftonville finally returning to a ground that they had never left and the wrong venue for the U2 / Trimble / Hume show did not help either.Overall, I would recommend the book for entertainment but not for research.

Loved it,

Intelligent, thoughtful, impeccably researched. Not words I ever though I would use for a book about sport!! I LOVED this book. Teddy Jamieson manages to weave humour into a rather difficult subject. Recommended highly!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. I picked it out because I was in a hurry and it had a better cover than the other books around it, I mean who isn't fascinated by George Best.A bit shallow of me I know. Like a previous reviewer I'm not that into sport but this book has so many interesting interviews and stories that it really drew me in and ended up staying up to read it. Definitely a page turner and a very worthwhile read, It's the first sport related book I've read and has opened me up to trying some more. I liked how it dealt with the effects of the troubles on sports in Ireland and also how it affected the author and those around him. But despite the subject it's a book that isn't too heavy, there is a lot of humour in there too. Very entertaining and informative. Recommended read.
