Jim Slater does a pretty reasonable job regarding the career details, etc of the players who played between 1946 to 1992. So far, so good - except the 'One Game Wonder' sections where all he provides are the date/result of the match in which they played ! I cannot fathom why the 62 players who fall into this category are not afforded a bit more recognition than that. As a football researcher it is both annoying and irritating to say the least. If you are going to do a bona fide 'Who's Who' on any club , do it properly ie :- a full career entry for every player. The book , in my view , is completely undermined by this glaring omission. I rate it - 2 stars, no more. Also, a final message to Mr Slater - it would be extremely helpful if players' places/dates of birth were also included.
