Between 1957 and 1965 Jerry made 2 films per year for Paramount Pictures. All did well at the box-office, some, notably "The Bell Boy" and "The Nutty Professor" which Lewis wrote and directed himself, have since been regarded as 'classics'. This title, directed by Frank Tashlin, sees our hero let loose in a department store, causing havoc on every floor. The impressive supporting cast includes the delectable Jill St. John, suitably caustic Agnes Moorehead, harassed Ray Walston and ineffectual John McGiver.A slight plot maybe but plenty of brilliantly staged sight-gags performed with obvious relish and gusto by Mr. Lewis.A crisp fast moving comedy for all the family marred by the print quality, images are not 'pin-sharp' with some wear marks visible. In fact, not a great deal better than my VHS tape recorded off-the-air some 32 years ago!The disc, only presently available in NTSC format does not contain any extras.A disappointment for us Lewis nuts who have long-been waiting for a DVD release of this film.

I recently purchased this movie on dvd, it's one of my absolute favourites, it's hilarious, from start to finish, the plot, the supporting cast, and special effects are worthy the the star performer Jerry Lewis. All Lewis fans should own this masterpiece.

It's Time To Laugh 9 July 2005
By S. C. - Published on Amazon.com
A million laughs. Jerry Lewis sucks up a dog, a wig, dishes, and half of the displays into a vacuum cleaner that he just repaired. When the bag is popped by a pin, there is a hilarious explosion. A perfect cure for depression or those rainy day blues. Get this movie!

One of the best Jerry Lewis movies 9 Dec 2009
By M. Shepherd - Published on Amazon.com
Without a doubt one of the best Jerry Lewis movies. This film is just packed with great comedians. Jerry Lewis, John McGiver,
Angnes Moorehead (Bewitched), Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian), and many others.
Jerry is a poor boob named Norman. Now Norman is a really nice guy, honest, hard working, and would do anything for anyone. Especially
for his girl. But like all Jerry Lewis characters he`s a disaster looking for a place to happen. His girl (Jill St. John) is the
heir to a big chain of department stores, but she doesn`t want Norman to know this. She wants to make sure he loves her for
herself, not because she`s rich. Her parents are Moorehead and her hopelessly henpecked husband McGiver. Moorehead`s character
is the ruthless driving force behind the Tuttle Empire and wants to prove to her daughter just what a boob Jerry really is.
So she orders the store manager (Ray Walston) to hire the boy and give him every dirty impossible job he can think of. The result
is disaster after disaster and laugh after laugh.
Walston makes a surprisingly good (not too mean) villian for the film, and all too often has his dirty tricks backfire on him.
Lewis is at top form in the film and turns in one of his best comedy performances.

Charming movie 12 April 2004
By Peter - Published on Amazon.com
I've seen this movie quite a few times now over the years, and why not wright a little review of this wild and crazy classic. it actally isnt as silly as most of the jerry lewis films, this is serious at times, and has alote of fine actors in it.
Jerry Lewis plays (as almost always) a nice and friendly chap, but clumsy who just can't seem to do anything right.
In this movie he is working at a big store, a huge store. and everything goes wrong! almost anyway. alote of fun scenes. not just a couple. i laughed many times through the movie. this is a fun and crazy jerry comedy, i think its one of the best jerry lewis movies. (atleast of what ive seen so far)
oh, and by the way, check out that beatiful secretary "Shirley", oh mama! i wish she had played a bigger role! and don't you just love the movie title? check it out.
