Review

'A good job of an impossible task, looking beyond the borders of North America, Australia and northern Europe to include people who have made important contributions from outside the gay and lesbian mainstream.' - Diva

'As entertaining as it is informative sets a standard in gay dictionaries and encyclopedias that others should note and follow. Highly recommended.' - Gay Times, March 2001

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring and incomplete 8 Mar 2011
By Johnny
No pictures, just text. Nothing I would sit and read for amusement and nothing I would turn to look someone up because it felt incomplete.

4.0 out of 5 stars very interesting book, but..... 18 July 2001
By SEBASTIANVS - Published on Amazon.com
Although this is a very interesting and useful book, almost of all entries are so-called "the westerners" with a few exceptions ; e.g. Mishima Yukio. And I don't understand the reason why the editors included "Anita Bryant" in the book. I think she is suitable to be listed in "Who's Who in Contemporary Homophobic-syndrome patients". Or the editors meant she also is a kind of "self-abhorrent homosexual" like Sanctus Paulus et Sanctus Augustinus ? I'd like to know the reason, if they don't mind.
