Product Description

Product Description

This is the definitive guide to who's buried where in England. It is a new, extensively revised and updated edition of this wide-ranging guide to the English burial places of over 350 prominent historical and royal figures, including Diana, Princess of Wales, with a brief biography of each, ninety illustrations and a useful index by county of all the graves mentioned. 'Boadicea (died c.60-61AD) - Under platform 10, King's Cross Station, London' is just one of the fascinating entries in this unique book, which also explains briefly the reasons why and how her remains lie there. There is no doubt that the final resting places of illustrious men and women, in this case those who have played a prominent part in England's history, exercise a mysterious attraction to the traveller.

Buried in the book ? 25 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was asked by someone to purchase this book, but couldn't help myself having a quick peep inside.Very interesting.Giving a short history of each entry (or should that be exit). The sort of grainy pictures in grey seem to add to the strange theme. My only gripe is it would have been better if there had been an index on each individual cemetery/crematorium.If visiting places you have to keep checking the book to find if they have an entry.Otherwise very informative........Who's Buried Where

just a minor point 13 Oct 2010
By Nook
Format:Paperback
Content of book really good, however it is described as Hardback - for which I paid more - and it is a paperback. NOT Amazons fault - the item is listed everywhere as hardback and is clearly the same edition. It would not usually concern me, but I have baught this item as a gift.
