Book Description

16 Oct 2012
In Whole Larder Love, Anderson gives readers easy to follow tips and instructions for setting up a home garden and the best practices for hunting and trapping small game and for catching fish. Additionally, he gives advice on collecting edible food in the wild and, just as crucially, a slew of exciting recipes and preparation methods for these ingredients. This combination how-to manual and cookbook is beautifully illustrated in full-colour with Anderson's own photographs. The perfect guide for foodies, farmers, gardeners and even urbanites looking for a little bit of rural romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful book 19 Oct 2012
By TJ Lawson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book knowing there would not be a lot of new information for me. If you're looking for a book that is an intro to gardening, foraging, and hunting this is not. (As if those skills could be taught in one book) What this is is a great primer on a sustainable food lifestyle. It is far more than just food grown yourself, but food that is delicious! This book has several great recipes. I've tried a couple they were wonderful. I look forward to trying the rest. What this book is is beautiful. The photographs, the typeset, the way the cover is laid out, the quality of the paper stock. Worth the purchase. I could not be happier with it. It will be like a coffee table book in our house.

5.0 out of 5 stars no just a cookbook! 18 Nov 2012
By be-cause-blog - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Followed Rohan Andersons blog Wholelarderlove for quite a while, I knew this book was going to be special when he announced it. It needs a good eye to be a good photographer and that brings you down to the details/roots to what you see. As a logic consequence you start questioning yourself about what's going on around you and what role you play. He not just saw what's going on (wrongly), he did something against it, and changed his life more and more. This book is not just a cookbook with amazing images and recipes, no it is also a manual with a bigger picture in mind. A path to follow. He shares his knowledge of how to grow - gather - hunt and cook with you.

The recipes are easy to prepare (if you have got some basic experience with cooking). Down to earth meals prepared from what is mostly available within reach and not traveled half around the globe to finally reach the plate. Im already through all the information in the book and know we can start cooking.
In the meantime I hope Rohan will have the time and passion to write more books he shares with us.
