Producing a record suitable for a club whilst maintaining indie sensibility is no mean feat, but Danish outfit "Who Made Who" have largey succeeded here, with this, their 2005 self titled release. Fans of "!!!"(chk chk chk), DFA and Sunshine Underground should find lots to embrace here.
Live drums and bass are mixed alongside punchy electronica to great effect, creating a decent balance between hypnotica and traditional song based progession. Stand out tracks "Rose", "Space For Rent" and "Out The Door" compliment what is a very consistant offering throughout. Only at times, do you feel that the lyrics were at bit of an after thought and can appear a bit flimsy alongside the solid bass and scanky guitars. Lyrics aside, the vocal tracks do add a welcome soundscape to the bulk of the disc. Dj's should also check out the 12" releases from the album, that include all originals with extended intro's, all suitable for mixing and club play.
A worthwhile Danish offering all in all, almost as tasty as their bacon.
