About the Author
David Shrigley lives and works in Glasgow. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and, since graduating in 1991, he has participated in exhibits throughout Europe and North America including the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; the UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and the Camden Arts Centre, London. His drawings have appeared in a music video for Blur as well as numerous magazines and newspapers such as The Independent on Sunday, Cabinet, and Parkett.

A fine addition to the mighty Shrigley canon, this new book follows an almost linear narrative (well, linear compared to the previous works), and can be read by almost anyone. Shrigleys simple line-work manages to evoke a myraid of emotions- witness the highly rendered facial features of his alter-ego wishing to be made into broth- and the entire volume straps us bodily into a rollercoaster ride of thoughts, feelings, longings and secret dirty wishes. Soon we come to empathise with the main protagonist, thanks indeed to Shrigley's masterful storytelling and graceful penmanship, and by the second page all thought of the outside world- the ironing, the cooking, who our friends are, is abandoned in favour of fantasy cooked up in front of our eyes.

A must for all who like things
