Biography

ALAN JACKSON - THE BLUEGRASS ALBUM

If that’s so, Alan Jackson’s is just right. “I probably started thinking about the bluegrass album sometime in the mid-‘90s,” the iconic country singer and songwriter explains. “But O Brother, Where Art Thou? came along, a couple of other country artists were ... This album is first class traditional country music. Alan Jackson has a voice that can curl your toes up and his simple yet powerful lyrics are unforgetable. Everything this singer does is superb.

One of Alan Jackson's Best CDs 25 May 2004
By Jeffrey T. Munson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I am a big fan of Alan Jackson, and "Who I Am" is, in my opinion, his best CD. There are two excellent re-makes of earlier songs on this CD, "Summertime Blues" and "Thank God For The Radio", and they are both very good. I especially like Jackson's guitar playing on "Summertime Blues". This CD spawned several other hits as well, such as "Livin' on Love", "Gone Country", "I Don't Even Know Your Name", and the title track. All songs on this CD are typical Jackson: great ballads intermixed with some fun, up-tempo songs. This disc has a little bit for everybody. Country fans are sure to enjoy this fine CD from Alan Jackson.

Very Sensitive--AJ is in tune to the world around him. 12 Aug. 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This album should be on every country music lovers shelf and be used to convert the heathen rockers to earthly sane music. The song that did not garner the most attention but may be the best song on the album is "Job Description" in which Alan sings a song to his wife about life on the road and what he looks forward to when he comes home to his family. If this song doesn't move one to tears, they should take a course in living!! Do yourself a favor--if you don't have this album, buy it. If you do have it, play it. It reminds me of everything America should be and was and what can still be if people keep writing music such as this!!!
