Charlie keeper is a lovely fantasy novel not to be compared to harry potter! We are after all repeatedly told there is no magic in this world is just an amazing ability. There are elements of a series of unfortunate events on here but only in the fact that this does not pander to the younger generation. Its like a mix of narnia, anne mccaffrey, spiderwick and artemis fowl! I do recommend it to all who enjoyed these, you will love this!!
This is a good 1st novel be warned this is the first of a series(ie don't expect an ending there's more to come!)!

One of best the bests books I've read since the first harry potter. I couldn't seem to put the book down at times it kept me wanting more I took it with me everywhere even on the shortest of journeys, Its a truly magical and exciting experience. I was so disappointed when I noticed the pages were getting thinner and I was nearing the end of the book. I cant wait for sequel, and I hope it continues directly after this one. I've now given my girlfriend the book to read and its seems to have the same effect on her and she actually cried at one moment, So I think you really do connect with the characters and it does touch you in some-way. All in all I think its an amazing book and would recommend it to anyone I know, no matter what age or gender. KEEP IT UP MARCUS!

I must confess to knowing very little about fantasy fiction. However having just recently finshed Charlie Keeper you maybe speaking to the newly converted!
Firstly the heroine is female which always gets my vote. Charlie is not only witty fiesty but is an utterly compelling chaacter, who you are eager to learn more about as the book progresses. I was absoluely enchanted by the vibrant land of Ballaina. The authors dscriptive narritive really brought this place alive . While at the sametime keeping a fine balance between fantasy and fiction making it all the more believeable.
I think the book has a cross specturm appeal, but espically to those who are new to the genre this is an excellant place to start. It really showed me what i was missing. I eagerly await the sequel. Im certain this is not the last we will hear from Charlie.!!

Where's the ending?
To start of, this book was "home published" and it shows. It has the most appalling punctuation and very shaky grammar. This author REALLY needs to get a proper editor! Read more
