Book Description

11 July 2008
'Who is Charlie Keeper?' tells the tale of Charlie, an iron-willed, twelve year old girl suffering an unjust and unhappy fate. Forced to flee her home in the gloomy, rain-drenched landscape of London by a bloodthirsty and terrifying new foe, she escapes to the vibrant, parallel land of Bellania with nothing more than her common sense and razor-sharp wits to keep her safe. Bellania, a land of myth, magic and marauding giants with bad attitude and poor anger management. With the fate of a world resting squarely upon her shoulders Charlie must learn about her destiny in order to defeat Bane, the Stoman Lord. And even with all the unspeakable betrayals, vicious enemies and terrible odds that are stacked against her, Charlie could probably succeed... ...if only she could learn to keep her big mouth shut and her opinions to herself. Who is Charlie Keeper? is the first installment in the Charlie Keeper Trilogy. Charlie Keeper and the Darkness planned release end '09

...This book is a must read, the perfect mixture of a cracking story and beautiful illustrations. The best news of all is that it is only the first book in a proposed trilogy... --Fantasy Book Review

...Better than Rowling... --The Truth About Books

...Even though the book is self published you can definitely compare the author to the likes of J K Rowling, Tolkien and Prachett - it really does have that much potential. The lead character is a girl but she must be the coolest lead character the team at Doodled Books has ever come across... --Doodled Books

4.0 out of 5 stars an entertaining read for adults and kids alike! 29 Aug 2008
Charlie keeper is a lovely fantasy novel not to be compared to harry potter! We are after all repeatedly told there is no magic in this world is just an amazing ability. There are elements of a series of unfortunate events on here but only in the fact that this does not pander to the younger generation. Its like a mix of narnia, anne mccaffrey, spiderwick and artemis fowl! I do recommend it to all who enjoyed these, you will love this!!
This is a good 1st novel be warned this is the first of a series(ie don't expect an ending there's more to come!)!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner 8 Aug 2009
I must confess to knowing very little about fantasy fiction. However having just recently finshed Charlie Keeper you maybe speaking to the newly converted!
Firstly the heroine is female which always gets my vote. Charlie is not only witty fiesty but is an utterly compelling chaacter, who you are eager to learn more about as the book progresses. I was absoluely enchanted by the vibrant land of Ballaina. The authors dscriptive narritive really brought this place alive . While at the sametime keeping a fine balance between fantasy and fiction making it all the more believeable.

I think the book has a cross specturm appeal, but espically to those who are new to the genre this is an excellant place to start. It really showed me what i was missing. I eagerly await the sequel. Im certain this is not the last we will hear from Charlie.!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of best books ive read ever! 19 Oct 2009
One of best the bests books I've read since the first harry potter. I couldn't seem to put the book down at times it kept me wanting more I took it with me everywhere even on the shortest of journeys, Its a truly magical and exciting experience. I was so disappointed when I noticed the pages were getting thinner and I was nearing the end of the book. I cant wait for sequel, and I hope it continues directly after this one. I've now given my girlfriend the book to read and its seems to have the same effect on her and she actually cried at one moment, So I think you really do connect with the characters and it does touch you in some-way. All in all I think its an amazing book and would recommend it to anyone I know, no matter what age or gender. KEEP IT UP MARCUS!

5.0 out of 5 stars They'll Love You Forever... 12 Dec 2008
Other than it being a pleasurable imagination kicker and quick pace read, the kids love it! After an incident where one of my nieces managed to find my copy of Who's Charlie Keeper the book was forever lost from my hands. The other younglings in the family caught wind of this so now here I am back for a few more copies. This book is sure to be a success with my nieces and nephew when they check their stockings this x-mas. Highly recommended for readers of all ages. You'll definitely enjoy reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastically Fun Read! 28 Aug 2008
By Trigg
This is a fantastic read and defintely worth the £6.99! I bought this for my hols and got through it in 2 days flat, I just couldn't put it down! Its fast paced, exciting and has some rather loveable (and some not so loveable!) characters which will whisk you away to the wonderful world of Belania. I thoroughly recommend this book, whether you are 32 (like myself) or 13!

5.0 out of 5 stars For those with an imagination!!!!! 14 Dec 2008
I got a copy of this book for my little brother (11 years old)and not only did he love it, but he was constantly talking about the characters in it. I have also read the book myself, and loved it. It's an action packed page turner. I'd recommend it to both children and those, who are a little older who have an imagination!!!!!!!!!

Simply the most rewarding read, full of beautifully conceived characters and charm.
This is most definately a book you will want to pass around the family to share the joy of such a well told story!
As soon as I finished the book, I went straight online to find another book by the author and I was absolutely amazed to find out this was a first novel!
I have already bought another 3 copies for Christmas presents this year as I'm sure that a first edition will be a prize worth having in the near future. (How many of us wish we had fist edition "Harry Potter" books on the shelf?)
Eagerly awaiting the next novel by this Author - Thank you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's the ending?
To start of, this book was "home published" and it shows. It has the most appalling punctuation and very shaky grammar. This author REALLY needs to get a proper editor! Read more
