5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read. 28 Dec 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
A great read by Narada who tells the story of his time working with "the voice"
Refreshing details about his time in the studio on some of her greatest hits and (thankfuly) no dirt raking, smearing or talk of the darker times in her life.
A must for any Houston fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's all about the music 16 Jan 2014
By Olorin
Format:Hardcover
What a fantastic review by the man who co-wrote How Will I Know and produced and recorded most of the "Whitney" album (Whitney's best-selling album ever in the UK with over 2,200,000 copies sold).

An insightful and touching book, with just the right blend of personal moments, character reveals together with what we all want to hear about, how Whitney Houston and that voice worked and how those classics got made.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ain't nothing but a woman 25 July 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
The woman behind the singer. It's what Narada makes us capture as long as he talks about his personal experience of recording with her. If you going to buy some book about WH, please do it of someone who really met her. There's a chance of truth being there.

Anybody who is looking to read 'dirt' on Whitney, drug tales or anything like that won't find it here. Narada produced some of Whitneys biggest early hits (How will I know, I wanna dance with somebody, Where do Broken hearts go) and helped define her sound. He goes into great length about the production of each song, so if you're into Whitneys music, or music production etc this will be of interest. If, like I said earlier you want dirt or more insight into Whitney's personal life you don't really get that here.

4.0 out of 5 stars AT LAST 1 BOOK WORTHY ABOUT WHITNEY 25 Jan 2013
By johnny
Format:Hardcover
YES, AT LAST. Maybe it covers a little period of nippy's life, but the pages seem to be so honest, and the production of the songs is so detailed and apreciated. Narada really loves his work, specially with Whitney, and the reader gets so emotional as he does. Thank you for this portion of truth, too short but a gem.

(Don't wanna talk about miss Franklin, you'll se why. She is great, but not the way I thought. Maybe 1 song on exhale, her non-appearance in 25th arista celebration or her last chance in Newark says it all. This is my opninion, NOT NARADA'S-let's get this straight)

I still miss her. I wish hidden gems and demos were in producer's vaults, even demos would be welcome. I insist on Cinderella soundtrack, something beyond my comprehension ($$$)
