Psychedelic Warriors were the vehicle for this album of instrumental space-rock from three Hawkwind members: Dave Brock, Alan Davey and Richard Chadwick. The music is totally instrumental, save for some voiceover effects on one track, and reminds me of the instrumental parts of Alan Davey's solo album "Bedouin". That, however, had generally more drive about it, as well as a number of good sung tracks.
On "White Zone", the music fails to conjure up any real passion, images of other worlds or mantric rhythms: it just all seems a bit flat, as though it needs the vocals to inspire the musical creativity.
If you're interested in instrumental space-rock from the Hawkwind camp, then you might try this year's (2010) release by Harvey Bainnridge, "Dreams, Omens & Strange Encounters" - it's better than this.
