"Fans of the rock star genre will want to give this one a go, as this Prince Charming is a hot, tattooed musician... [I]n this story readers will meander through the dark and dangerous tunnel of Cass' life and subsequently cheer her on when she comes out the other side."--Romantic Times

Product Description

A word-of-mouth bestseller that’s captivating readers with its honesty, grit, and headstrong heroine, White Trash Beautiful is a story for anyone who has ever felt trapped in life, cheated by love—and longed for something more . . .

Cass Daniels isn’t waiting for her knight in shining armor. She knows that girls like her don’t get a happily ever after. Not if you live in a trailer with your mom, work at a greasy spoon diner, and get leered at by old men. Maybe that’s why she puts up with Jackson—her poor excuse for a boyfriend, who treats her like dirt. Cass has learned to accept her lot in life. That is, until he walks into her diner. . . .

His name is Tucker White, and he’s different from any man Cass has ever known. Tall, tattooed, and bad-ass gorgeous, he’s the lead singer of the rock band Damaged. From the moment they meet, Tucker sees something in Cass he just can’t shake. Something beautiful. Something haunted. Something special. And he’s determined to find out what it is—if only he can get her to open up and let him in. . . .

More About the Author

I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France were I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney's Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn't resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us hear today. If you have a moment I'd like to tell you a story.

Teresa Mummert is an army wife and mother whose passion in life is writing . Born in Pennsylvania, she lived a small town life before following her husband's military career to Louisiana. This story pulled me in from the very start!! I couldn't stop until finished. Kat's Tale is a seductive vampire romance following the life of Kat, depressed over the death of her brother and fueled by her hate for vampires, until she meets Caleb who's everything she desires...or is he? Their instant fiery passion ultimately leads to a revelation Kat isn't prepared to face. I guarantee this story will leave you craving for more!! A must read!

5 out of 5 starsSheena Broussard's review Dec 30, 11
Read in December, 2011 (GoodReads)I love the plot and the unexpected twist in this story. Caleb is to die for and Kat is strong not your typical damsel in distress. I cannot wait for to finish 9lives. I can see this becoming just as popular as the sookie stackhouse mysteries and richelle mead's vampire academy!

2.0 out of 5 stars To many issues for it to be enjoyable. 5 Aug 2014
By Book Passion for Life TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
I’d heard a lot about White Trash Beautiful before I started it, so my expectations were pretty high, but I didn’t really connect with the story as much as I hoped I would. It was an okay read but I didn’t think it stood out compared to some of the other NA books I’ve read.

The story follows a waitress named Cass Daniels. Cass is trying to save as much money as possible so she can leave behind her drug addict mother and boyfriend, who are happy with their trailer trash life. Cass never believes she will amount to anything, because she’s been told so many times that are she’s nothing – then she starts to believe it.
It’s not until Tucker White gets Cass’s attention when he visits the diner she works in, and he’s determined to get what he wants….and he wants Cass. But can she leave everything behind that she’s ever known.

Cass was probably my main issue with the book. I didn’t really like her. I did not understand any of her reasoning’s for doing the things she does. She stands by her boyfriend even while he beats her and keeps feeding her mother drugs. He was an utter loser but she kept going back to him – even though she hated her life. Tucker was a life saver for her – without him she’s still be living in the life she hated, although I do believe she had the strength to stand up for herself, but she choose not to. I think the main reason I didn’t like Cass was because of how weak she was. I like to read about characters that are strong – not ones that are ready to give up. And Cass was one of them and the only thing keeping her going was Tucker.

Tucker was okay. He came on very strong to Cass from the get-go, I guess that was to show he had an instant connection to her, but I found myself rolling my eyes at the whole situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars White Trash Beautiful 17 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book took me on one of the biggest emotional roller-coasters and I loved every minute! I connected with Cass right away and was immersed in the whole story from start to finish. I really felt for Cass and I agree with other comments that you feel like you are living her life while reading the book. That is how well written this book is you actually feel like you are there and can visualise the diner, the trailer and the characters so clearly. And as for Tucker... LOVE HIM!! Can't wait for the next installment. Never stop writing Teresa, you're books are amazing! :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Do you believe in fairytales? 23 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another of Teresa's books I didn't want to put down. I truly loved getting to know Cass and felt for her. Written in such a way you could really relate to her and feel how the hope had been sucked out of her and then along comes a Prince Charming. So why not a higher review? Purely because I wished for a couple more surprises and yearned to know Tucker more. Knowing Teresa's previous series I'm certain they will all come to light in the sequel! An enjoyable and addictive read nevertheless.

4.0 out of 5 stars EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER 15 July 2013
By L. Sims TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
Cass lives in a trailer park with her mother and boyfriend. She works as a waitress in a run down diner. Both her mother and boyfriend are drug addicts. It wasn't always this way, her mother only went downhill after Cass's father left. Jax her boyfriend was her saviour through high school, spending all his time with her till he eventually moved into the trailer with her and her mother. But once he started taking drugs, things went from bad to worse. But Cass always hoped to get her mother some help, and that Jax would wake up one day and realise what he was doing was ruining his life. But I think deep down she knew that would never happen.
Then one day a tall handsome guy came into the diner, his name was Tucker, from that day forward Cass's life would change forever.

I have enjoyed this authors books before, I love her writing style. Her characters are vividly drawn and come to life on the page. With a great plot, packed with drama and emotion. This story doesn't disappoint. I have to be honest and say that this isn't the happiest of tales, there are some very dramatic scenes. But this is a real page turner IMO.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much White Trash not enough Drama 1 July 2013
By Kristen
Format:Paperback
I first came across this book on the Kindle store and was immediately enthralled from the blurb. The free sample I downloaded then had me hooked and as soon as I saw this book on Netgalley I just knew I had to read it.
Unfortunately the book then seemed to go down hill from that point. It wasn't that the book was terrible, it just wasn't as exciting and drama packed as I was expecting.

Let's start out with Cass, she's supposed to be portrayed as this young woman who despite such grievances in her home life puts on a strong front to others around her. Instead I just found her to be annoying and whiny. There was too much emphasis on how she's `white trash' and deserves to stay in her trailor park and not enough emphasis on how she's managed to overcome survive such a wretched home life. She just cried too much for my liking. I don't like crying, it annoys me and it seemed Cass was crying every single chapter.

Now Tucker I did actually like. He's a tattoed rocker god, what's really not to like. Now he's someone who's had a tough life but managed to overcome it instead of letting it define him and define how others see him. Although we do get snippets of Tucker's past life I believe there's more to him than we see in the book. He was actually what made me want to finish this book. There's got to be more to why he `loves' and wants to protect Cass. All in all Tucker is definitely a swoon worthy character.

The story itself just lacked that WOW factor for me. I was really expecting these two to keep getting thrown curve-balls in their relationship and then overcoming it all and being utterly, madly in love. I suppose some people may prefer this but I thrive on drama in my books and it just didn't live up.
