SERIES INTRODUCTION:
Can sex be the gateway to an ancient mystical realm unheard of in the West? According to Chinese Tantrics, the answer is YES.

In Jade Lee's award-winning Tigress series, western women discover that sex is not simply for pleasure, but for religious ecstasy. Who will come out on top? The Western Tigress or the Chinese Dragon? And is the new erotic realm they discover LOVE?

WHITE TIGRESS – The Way of the Tigress, Book 1
Englishwoman Lydia Smith is drugged and sold as a Tantric slave, to a dark-eyed dragon of a man.

Lydia's captor does not demand her virginity but her Yin—the essence of her ecstasy.

What harm could come from allowing him to pleasure her, to teach her, to explore the path of the White Tigress, until she can flee?

MEET JADE LEE:
Jade Lee, a USA Today bestseller, has two passions (well, except for her family, but that's a given). She loves dreaming up stories and playing racquetball, not always in that order. When her pro-racquetball career ended with a pair of very bad knees, she turned her attention to writing. An author of more than 30 romance novels, she's decided that life can be full of joy without ever getting up from her chair.

This book is set in 1800's and in china - the mc goes from england to china to meet her fiance early and surprise him and gets drugged and sold into slavery. She's then bought by Ru Shan as he wants to be an immoratal under taoist principles, but needs her water elements to counter his dragon heat. He promises he will not take her virginity and will realease her at the end as as the alternative is to be returned to the whore house he bought her from she reluctantly agrees. Its full of very subtle erotisism - tantric sex type stuff and beautifully written - much jade dragon fire and cinnamon gates. There a thread running through via letters from his mother to her sister/freind ? and explains about the male mc background and family and covers some of the reasons his dragon is too hot.
I got an insight into how characters involved in eastern religions such as Tao see how their self improvemnt is shaped and how they set about it, and what a great influence their past actions and those of their family and ancestors matter to them - what seem like callous reasons to western ideals are simply ways to an end in their eyes and the ending justifies what they do. Its a book to make you thnk about what we do/have done in the past and the morality of it all but also its a beautifully written escapist read. My mind is still with lLydia and Ru Shan today and i think i might have to re read it - second readings coloured by knowing what comes are often really enlightening.
it has a happy ending - i love those and leads neatly into next book in series. this one was free and still is so if you've an eareader get in quick before its priced up. I will be buying further ones in the sereis as i need to know how it continues.

i've given it 5 stars as its a good length, few errors in spelling and grammar and most important its a story to stay with you and be enjoyed again and again.

This book has been labelled as erotic but I would re-label it as sensual. I wasn't too sure about reading this book as I had read a few negative reviews and for once allowed that to influence me. I have now realised that I should not allow other reviews to influence my reading choice. If I was intrigued enough to download it, I will be interested enough to make my own decision! I completely enjoyed it.

Even though this is historical, set in 1800's China, our main female is not some whimpering, wilting wallflower but has a spine, is forward thinking and is more than capable of arranging her own life, rather than waiting for Prince Charming to come and rescue her.

I loved the flow of this story and did not find it confusing at all. There are some basic Taoist terms for you to "learn" as they are repeated throughout the book, but trust me, they are not difficult. I loved the history of Taoism that was also given through the book.

Really enjoyed it, will be reading it again and will be keeping this one!
