Amazon.co.uk Review

Looking for a seriously silly story, with a dash of the ridiculous thrown in for good measure? Then look no further than the rather brilliantly daft Snow White and the Seven Aliens, an absolutely hilarious, rib tickling take on an age-old story.

The Mean Queen is jealous of her step daughter little Snow White because she is pretty and talented and has a teeny weeny, perfect little nose. Snow White wants to be a pop star and spends most of her time fantasising about her favourite band, Boysnog, but Mean Queen forces the little girl to listen to her singing the dreadful songs that once made her famous as a member of the Wonderful Wicked Witches.

But the day comes when Mirror, Mirror On The Wall tells the truth for the first time ever and admits that Snow White is everything the Mean Queen isn't and Snow White is banished to the big bad city where she one day wanders in to the Swinging Spaceship Nightclub. There she meets the Seven Aliens--a pop group with a record at number 4,324 in the charts--and her life is turned around. But when the Mean Queen hears of her stepdaughter's good fortune she decides to put a stop to it once and for all.

A clever combination of the old, familiar fairy tale brought bang up to date with a swinging, contemporary cast of characters that raises a titter at every turn, Snow White and the Seven Aliens is one of the funniest books a child is ever likely to read and is an absolute must for those who like their books fast, furious and laugh-out-loud funny. (Ages 6 to 8) --Susan Harrison

Snow White and the Seven Aliens is, to put it simply - GREAT! I have read this to 4 classes and everytime they are enthralled. It is a fun short read for children up to about 11, full of hilarious characters and bizarre scenarios. I particularly loved the Wicked Queen (an ex-punk rocker) and her petrified husband who humours her from behind a mirror!

Unputdownable! - for kids!

I loved reading this with the children when they were younger. Was as excited as them when we found a new 'fairy tale' in the library. Now enjoying reading them with the children at school as we're exploring alternative fairy stories.

This one is all about Snow White who is very pretty, very talented and has dreams of becoming a pop star and who is obsessed with Boysnog (the boy group of the century). But the Mean Queen has other ideas and makes her listen to songs which she used to sing when she was famous. But the Mirror (never one to lie)tells the Queen Snow White is going to make it and thus seals her fate of being banished to the big bad city. But fortunately for her she bumps into the Seven Aliens pop group. Will the Mean Queen be able to stop Snow White's happiness or will her luck remain and will she become a famous pop star?

My daughter had read this book at school and really enjoyed it so we decided to get it for home use. She loves it and has read it several times.
