This books brings together beautifully the contrasting worlds of Pontypool and London, the stresses of family life and the excitement and excesses that London can deliver. Funny, fanciful and real. A must-read for the London Welsh.

A little delight 5 May 2010
I loved this book. It was such a joy to read such a funny and charming and easily read book. I love reading dialogue that I fast paced, and punctuated with swearing. It's not big and it's not clever but it is funny (I often laughed out loud). The story it self is great I can imagine the media world seizing up and grinding to a halt if it wasn't for the free flowing confidence, the confidence that it will all come together and it will be brilliant in the end. The media world is such a ripe target for satire. Incidentally you can judge this book by its cover - all the important things in the book are shown on the front cover (smoking, white stockings, a leek and more besides)

I wouldn't want to give the end away but I felt very pleased and happy at the end and I'm glad that a roller coaster of a story could end up with salvation coming from an unexpected place.

It's okay.
It has some clever bits and some funny bits.
But it's not "Rancid Aluminium" or " A White Merc With Fins" - both of which are infinitly better!
