I think in UK hip hop today, there is a lot of talent and a lot of variety, but it's rare to find something that takes you on soo many levels, and something you can listen to always regardless. I think this is some of most thought-provoking hip hop out there. Easily up there with The Roots-Illadelph Halflife. Reminded me of it a lot and has a similar sort of message. They said in an interview they wanted to leave a bench mark and i think they smashed it. Honestly, to me, this is the best.
I like this album because it is real hip hop at the end of the day BUT the beats get really boring in my opinion and if your in the car you sometimes dont realise the track has changed. Saying that its worth the buy for the quality of the lyrics it just needs more change beat wise. mobb deep always had dark gloomy beats but they managed to keep it fresh where as they havent here!!!
