Meet Born and Jada- both from the street and experiencing the effects that drugs can have on one's life. However- same place- different world.
Jada and her younger sister Ava flee their weak mother who ignores when her husband abuses her young daughters. At an early age Jada meets the reality that is the streets, especially drugs. Staying high means escaping her problems, but unfortunately this is an expensive escape. Funding her habit means prostituting herself, at the mercy of terrible men.
Born watches his father die from drugs and feels let down. Once the true kingpin and respected hustler, Born also greives for his father and seeks to pick up and do better from when he left off. Money, power and parties are the perks of being Born's lady, a now well respected king in the drug world. Being that close to the other 'good high' life is all so tempting to Jada. However she made a promise to Born the now love of her life to stay clean...but can she do it...If so what is to become of her by crossing the hand that feeds her? If Jada reverts back to her old life the consequences can mean more than just bad memories. The course of her life can take one bad turn after the other- making it even harder out their on your own, especially when trying to get on your feet. Jada has to learn this the hard way and this is the journey that the reader follows, with many twists and turns...
This story is much more than just a love story. The characters are so well written, and certain things or events, you just don't see coming! This book had me hooked! The struggle of pain, love and survival is so well documented in this story and I feel everyone can take something from this book.
