Product Description

Product Description

Erik has planned the perfect Christmas for his family. The plan is foolproof, bulletproof and flame retardant. Nothing can undo the hours of planning and preparation. Nothing except maybe odd-shaped packages, ill-timed fruitcakes or an errant neighborhood Santa Claus.

About the Dumb White Husband series: He’s the butt of every joke, the fool in every commercial–the Dumb White Husband is corporate America’s only safe target for abuse and defamation. We know/love/hate him from thousands of appearances in movies, tv, radio and more.

He loves and cares for his family, is successful in his career, popular in the neighborhood, can dress himself (often without injury) and is capable of reasonable thought. Demographically, however, he functions like a 4-year-old that can’t quite master the intricacies of the potty.

It isn’t his fault. He studied hard and got a college degree. He works hard and earns a comfortable living. But, like all other dumb white husbands, he leads a dual life; competent member of society by day, helpless male by night, weekends and holidays.

He has served for years as the nervous legal department-approved foil of commercials, TV and movies. And, for this service, we thank him. No one has ever cared to look inside the mind of the dumb white husband – probably for a fear of what we might find – but, if we took a minute to consider it, we may see that he’s not as dumb as we all think. But, he probably is.

Hilarious! 11 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This has to be the most LOL book I've ever read. I made the mistake of reading it in bed whilst my boyfriend was sleeping, I think I have strained a stomach muscle trying to hold in the laughter! I have to say I loved it, fantastic read for this time of year. Looking forward to some more Dumb White Husband antics in the near future :-)

Worth a read. 26 Jan 2012

A short story about an average white ( largely irrelavant that he is white) male trying to create for his his family the "perfect" xmas. It covers 24th & 25th of December and the trials & tribulations of our hero,Erik.

Yes, we have all tried to have the mythical "perfect Christmas" ( & in my case failed).
The story unfolds at a reasonable pace and is fairly simple. The ending is not how I would have predicted, but is none the worse for that.

After reading the story I was disappointed with the whole thing, because it wasn't funny ( to me), and it didn't provoke any particular emotions in me. Then I ruminated on the whole thing and decided it was Ok. Hence 3 stars.
I will look out for a few more of this authors works and see how they "read".

Another Dumb White Husband Adventure 11 Dec 2011
By Kenneth Moore - Published on Amazon.com

Well, Ben has done it again! Another book that made me literally laugh aloud and that I couldn't put down until it was finished! If you read the earlier Dumb White Husband books (vs. The Grocery Store and vs. Halloween) you will know what I mean. If you've missed those two, feel free to start with this one - I promise you will want to go back and read the others once you stop laughing! Dumb White Husband vs. Santa (A Short Story)

Great addition to the DWH series. 3 Dec 2011
By Jeff Ceynar - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ben I have to say that I have not ever been waiting with eager anticipation for a story like I did for this one. I was hoping that did not cause me to over expect. I was kicked back in my recliner tearing through the pages well flipping through the pages as fast as I could read them. Mr. Wallace you have over delivered. I was laughing so hard so many times that my 4 year old thought I was playing Angry Birds or something. There are too many things I would love to talk about in this review but do not want to ruin the fun for everyone. I am already waiting for the next story in the DWH series. Also the Ceynars loved their fruitcake.
