Product Description

Although everybody seems to have a different account of who came first in the world of New York/New Jersey area thrash metal, it seems certain that New Jersey's Overkill have stayed around the longest, and have never let their fans down by remaining musically consistent and true to their roots for over 30 years. Through much hard work and a slew of infamous live performances at New York area clubs like L'Amours, Overkill established a reputation as a blue-collar, working man's metal band. After the band released a self-financed EP in 1984, Overkill broke onto the scene in 1985 with Feel The Fire, a crushing thrash assault from the self-proclaimed "Wrecking Crew". originally consisting of vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, bassist D.D. Verni, guitarist Bobby Gustafson, and drummer Rat Skates - were on a tear, borrowing heavily from punk rock roots while adding a venomous metal crunch that allowed them to compete favorably with peers like Testament, Anthrax, and Megadeth.

Numerous classic albums followed including 'Taking Over' and 'Horrorscope' and in 2009 Overkill signed a contract with Nuclear Blast and released the eagerly awaited and acclaimed "Ironbound". Headlining tours ("Killfest") across the old continent and successful gigs on almost every big European festival followed. This album took Overkill back where they belong: the top!2012 unleashed "The Electric Age",where they refreshed and modernized the Overkill trademark.

Laid down at Gear Recording studio in NJ and produced by the band and mixed by Greg Reely (Fear Factory, Devin Townsend), Overkill's 17th studio album sees them in obscenely rude health.Thundering rhythms built on D.D. Verni's bass and blistering riffs mixed with Blitz's authentic howl are spread all over the likes of 'XDM', 'Where's The Smoke' and 'King Of The Rat Bastards'. Having steamrollered the UK on a March club tour, including a brutal performance at Hammerfest, Overkill remain the real deal live and on record.

Good album. Although not in the same class as Ironbound. Good that a band like Overkill are still around, they can still do it as White Devil Armory has some fine tracks for your enjoyment.

Another great slice of old school thrash metal from Overkill, a band that rarely disappoint and have been on something of a roll in recent years.

It's fast, it's catchy, it's brimming with energy and it thrashes hard. If you've any love for 80s thrash then it's another must buy.

Overkill's best album in years; great songs, fab playing... Awesome!!

Improbable I know, but I do hope that New York's finest never stop. Metal and music in general will be poorer without them. Keep taking the vitamins guys!! ;-)

This is Overkill's 17th studio album and yet another great slab of thrash metal from New Jersey's finest. WDA is kind of a mix between Ironbound & The Electric Age like some of the other reviewers have stated. First seen this band back in 1987 at "The Christmas On Earth" gig in Leeds and you have got to give these guys credit for still producing great music. \m/
