Book Description

19 Feb 2012
WHISKEY REBELLION: AN ADDISON HOLMES MYSTERY My name is Addison Holmes, and I teach history at James Madison High School in Whiskey Bayou, Georgia. You might be under the assumption that my life went to the dogs when my fiancé left me at the altar for the home economics teacher, or when I got notice that my apartment building was going to be condemned, or even when I was desperate enough to strip to my unmentionables to earn some extra cash. The truth is that I'm pretty much used to disasters following me around on a daily basis, but I could have gone without finding my principal dead in the parking lot of a seedy gentlemen's club. After the initial shock of finding my first dead body, which included throwing back shots of Jack Daniels like it was water, I decided to take stock of my life. I was in a desperate situation and if the school board ever found out I'd been a stripper, even a bad stripper, I'd be jobless as well as fiancé-less and homeless. Fortunately, I had a friend who felt sorry enough for me to give me a job doing some surveillance work at her detective agency. Not to mention the fact that I was now able to stick my nose into other people's business for a good cause, find a murderer, and pick up helpful tips from an incredibly attractive detective. Come check out my story and be thankful your life is relatively normal. More About the Author

Liliana Hart spent five years teaching music in the public education system. She molded America's youth, busted kids for smoking pot in the restrooms, and broke up illicit affairs behind the stage on a regular basis, so she finally decided to hang up her hat and let someone else have all the fun. (Liliana's Addison Holmes Mystery Series, about a small town teacher who gets into a whole lot of trouble, is somewhat autobiographical, but she won't confess to which parts).

Liliana began reading romance novels with all her new found free time, and when she ran out of things to read, she decided to write her own novels. The result was a 150,000 word thriller--a dazzling adventure--where the heroine was a thirty-year-old virgin assassin (Yes, you read that right). She couldn't imagine why people weren't knocking down her door to read it, but she persevered and began writing a second book. She finally got the hang of things, and eventually learned that losing one's virginity wasn't all that romantic after all. All of her books involve some kind of suspense (she just can't help herself), laughter, and a lot of steamy sex.

Since the failure of her first attempt, Liliana's books have won awards such as: The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. Her affiliations include Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America. Liliana loves to cook, and is addicted to reading, Internet Boggle, kickboxing, and Bones. She lives in a big, rambling house in Texas with a couple of cats to keep her company. She loves to get emails from readers.

Enjoy the Adventures!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious Comic Creation 31 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is described a romantic comedy thriller. I hesitated to buy it as I could not imagine what that might be like. Having read it I can confirm that writer managed to tick all of these boxes with hilarious consequences.

In accident prone Addison Holmes, she has created a comic detective that should be given her own TV series. The novel is written, Philip Marlow style, in the first person. The reader winces as the wisecracking detective gets herself in to one ridiculous scrape after another.

The tension in both the steamy romantic and thriller plots is kept equally taught all the way through. I'm not sure how the writer does it, but please can we have some more?

3.0 out of 5 stars Light reading 30 Aug 2013

This is my review for two other Liliana Hart's:

I just reviewed All About Eve also by Liliana Hart. My comments for that will suffice as a review for this offering also, and indeed for Whiskey Rebellion - so I will paste below. If they were terrible books, I wouldn't have read so many of them, but it says more about my mood at the time than it does about the books. I wanted something light and frothy, and Liliana Hart's books fit the bill perfectly.

"I think we all know where this is going to go from the synopsis. We're not wrong, but it was a fun journey getting there. Deep and meaningful it's not, but to be fair it's not pretending to be. A good, light holiday read".

Ditto for Whiskey Rebellion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant comedy 9 Sep 2013
By emma
Format:Kindle Edition
This came as a complete shock after reading Liliana Harts Dane and Cade. An excellent shock. The characters were well written and believable, the storyline was gripping, the sexual tension was spot on and what shocked me most after reading Liliana's previous two books... no actual sex! I laughed frequently during this and now I'm going to look at the next two book in the Whiskey series.

3.0 out of 5 stars passes the time 31 Oct 2013

normally I like grittier crime fiction, but now & again you need something light & fluffy and not too taxing - this fitted the bill perfectly. It was funny in many places, but really not that much of a challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud excellent read 23 Sep 2013

I could not stop laughing reading about addisons mishaps. She was hilarious and funny yet emotionally vulnerable. Her relationship with nick was so hot with many missed opportunities to capitalise in their feelings. This was such a good book to read. If was light but did have elements of suspense that kept me on my toes. Fantastic read.

Poor Addison, a walking disaster, if there's something to fall over she's the one to fall. Handsome cop Nick, love hate relationship, she wants him but can't really admit it to herself. Some amusing moments, easy going, worth a read.
