"4 Stars from Bookish!"

“Caution!!! Hotness Warning! Whirlwind is a steaming hot and amazingly sensual Romantic Mystery debut novel by talented new writer, Robin DeJarnett. This spicy, deliciously sexy, intriguing story will definitely make your cheeks burn!” – Evie at Bookish

The Romance Review - The Romance Reviews gives Whirlwind 4 stars:

“I loved the duality of Melissa as her “naughty” side was awakened by Jason McAlister, the best man and brother of the groom. I was actually giggling when Jason was asking for “naughty Melissa” to come out or not to come out to play. Jason is sweet, charming and handsome, but thank goodness some flaws were found as all too perfect doesn’t cut it.” – Laura at The Romance Reviews

4 Stilettos from The Bookish Brunette!

“Mel is an awesome character…she is sarcastic, funny, snarky- all my favorite things..." - The Bookish Brunette

"A delightfully quick and entertaining read- Whirlwind describes itself perfectly with its title! ” – The Bookish Brunette

5 Stars from the SlinkyMink Booklover!

“The main characters were so real and beautifully created that I completely fell in love with them...This book gave me much more than I thought and it always pleases me when a story exceeds all my expectations.” – The SlinkyMink Booklover

The Geeky Blogger reviews Whirlwind:

“Jason to me was everything a leading man is supposed to be: hot, smart, loving, and immediately attracted to Melissa...The fact that he “got” Melissa was also one of the other enduring things about him. He didn’t try to change her just understand her. Those kind of men make me swoon!” – Felicia at The Geeky Blogger

Cheeky Reads reviews Whirlwind:

“What I enjoyed most about this book was the relationship between Melissa and her friends, as well as the one with Jason. I felt like Melissa’s inner monologue about her friendship with Mitch and her insecurities were nicely done and appreciated some well done, but not over the top, sexy scenes!” – CheekyGirl at Cheeky Reads

4 Stars from Sizzling Hot Book Reviews!

“The real magic of Whirlwind is that Robin DeJarnett manages to convey love-at-first-sight in such a way that it truly works, is believable. Than she backs it up by giving the characters a shared past of somewhat knowing each other by exchanging emails. And Jason and Melissa work so well together, Whirlwind ends up charming and leaving us with a smile.” – Vicky at Sizzling Hot Book Reviews

Once Upon a Twilight4 Stars from Once upon a Twilight!

“Robin DeJarnett did a wonderful job with this book... I fell in love with all the characters especially Jason – what a hottie!! He is every woman’s dream man. He was romantic, caring and great in the sleeping bag.” – Ana, Once upon a Twilight

Love at first sight is a myth to aspiring journalist Melissa Williams, but when she meets Jason McAlister at a friend’s wedding, a Cinderella-like fantasy turns her no-nonsense world upside down. She sees in his penetrating blue eyes not just an evening, but a lifetime together that includes much more than a glass slipper and a kiss.

Realizing she shared a few salacious emails with Jason months ago, a humiliated Melissa loses herself in the crowd, thankful he doesn’t know who she is. But he does know—and with a gentle touch and a steamy kiss, he soon picks up their flirtation right where it left off.

As midnight strikes, Melissa succumbs to Jason’s sexy pull, unaware that a woman’s body has been discovered in the wake of the party. When evidence points to Melissa as the killer’s next target, the lines between fantasy and reality blur. She goes into hiding, charmed by one mysterious man and hunted by another. Cinderella lost a shoe—Melissa could lose both her handsome prince and her life.

Enjoyable read. Good story bit of a whirlwind as the title says. But the Characters are good and keep the story going. It doesn't go on or beat around the bush. Like some romance book tend to do. But in here nice story good characters with a good connection. Bit of a murder going on, a bit of suspense and drama, good read, enjoyable. Read it! You won't be let down. If this is the type of gene you tend to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart heroine+ sexy, romantic hero+a killer=A Great Read 9 Jan 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
'Whirlwind' invokes for the reader a reminder of the intensity of new love. Coupled with the newly minted couple trying to outrun a killer, 'Whirlwind' keeps the reader breathless, both from the chemisty between Melissa and Jason and the suspense of seeing how they get out of the path of a murderer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved This Writer At First Sight 8 Mar 2011
By Jennifer Lane - Published on
Whirlwind is a debut Romantic Suspense novel by Robin DeJarnett, featuring Melissa and Jason, two twenty-somethings who meet at a wedding. Sparks fly when they first touch, but romance isn't the only focal point of the story, as later in the evening a woman is murdered. Turns out the murderer might now be after Melissa. The book summary includes a great line: "Cinderella lost a shoe--Melissa could lose both her handsome prince and her life". Ha! This subtle humor pervaded the story and was one reasons of many I adored Whirlwind.

I'm a practical woman, so the idea of love-at-first-sight made me a bit skeptical when I started this novel. By the end, Robin DeJarnett completely convinced me of the realism and beauty of a whirlwind romance! What made me a believer? 1) Melissa and Jason created emotional intimacy before their explosive physical chemistry had a chance to bloom, 2) Their character development was gradual and complex, and 3) The characters maintained their own independence and personalities without becoming enmeshed or losing themselves in each other. But the most compelling reason was Robin's writing style. It was smooth, sexy, and suspenseful.

I found myself really liking both Melissa and Jason, and the supporting cast was also richly drawn. This is a novel about many kinds of relationships, including romance, friendship, and the deep bonds with our parents. Melissa's insight about her relationship with her deceased father was poignant and meaningful.

My only complaint: Why oh why did Jason have to attend the University of MICHIGAN? As a resident of Columbus, Ohio, I was very dismayed by that choice but I did have to laugh when his brother named his horse Buckeye just for spite. Go Mitch!

I DEFINITELY recommend Whirlwind, and I eagerly anticipate Robin's next novel. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars cute and fun 4 Mar 2011

I don't usually read romance novels, but this was worth the read. Knowing it was a mystery hooked me into reading it. It is a mystery with great descriptions of the characters. The action sequence is very original to me. I wonder where she came up with the idea! I also loved the ending which stumped me at first. Good job Robin!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love her writing! 4 Jan 2011

Robin DeJarnett: I have found my new favorite author. I have always been an avid romance reader and have been riding the big vampire romance high for a couple of years now. Which is actually how I found out about Robin DeJarnett and her first book. I have been reading her fan-fiction the past couple of years. All of it was so awesome, seamlessly continuing/paralleling the story I already love and capturing the character's voice so well that when I first read her work, I wondered if she was the original author in disguise. I went to download her fanfic onto my new Kindle a few days ago (so that I can read it over and over) and saw the link to Whirlwind and immediately downloaded it.

Whirlwind: This was a very enjoyable story. I read it then had to go back to highlight my favorite scenes/quotes in my Kindle. All the characters were fairly well developed and believable. (I have read some recently popular YA romance novels that disappointingly had very little character development) None of them seemed 2 dimensional, and I found myself wanting to know more about them. And not just a sequel; I request a prequel too, with Melissa meeting Mitch and Chase and Linda and the others. They all were fun. The writing is fun, flirty and not full of cliches nor overly sexed or overly dramatic/sappy words. The intimate parts were fantastically steamy and not full of the 'typical' sex talk I've found in alot of romances that sometimes has me rolling my eyes, and kinda ruins the moment. (not sure how to elaborate without being more specific and non-PG-13). I almost bit my lip off trying to keep quiet at 3 am when they were together in the hotel. I was giggling like crazy and couldn't stop reading. I think I had an especially fun time because I recognized the college Melissa goes to (has been renamed in the book I'm sure for liability reasons) - it's the one I attended - and I kept thinking, "hey, I've been there, I lived at that dorm, I remember how that looked...". So it was alot of fun for me. The suspense enhanced the story and didn't detract from it. It's the relationship and characters that I care about most, not a mystery or crime drama, and this book really delivers on relationship.

And Jason - WOW. My husband's name is Jason (that part was a little weird for me) and he is so NOT romantic. Can I swap?! Well, I really wont give up mine, but at least now I have another one to fantasize about. Jason was just the right amount of intense, loving, sexy. Not too sappy, not too macho, just a really nice, romantic, attentive guy.

And I loved the ending. Really fun there too. And sweet how Jason reacted.

I'm eagerly looking forward to more and more from Robin DeJarnett.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book 20 May 2011
By Shari Eggleston - Published on
I liked this book a lot. I was caught up in the story from the beginning. Love at first sight is always exciting. Enjoyable characters always add to the story.

There was a bit of mystery and a murderer on the loose. Not as fast a read as the last few books, but well worth the time. For those out there who like romance I can recommend this book.
