Innovative Design

rounded back
Rounded Back to Save on Worktop Space

The Whirlpool Max Microwave range with its statement rounded back, slots comfortably into tight corners and so can be suited for those with limited kitchen workspace or where space is a premium. Its shape is designed to fit around its large 28cm turntable, so it may appear smaller than a conventional microwave but there is no compromise on size when it comes to cooking.

Variety of colours
Stylish and Easy to Clean

The Max 38 microwave is designed with a dark glass flat screen door and an integrated handle with touch-screen controls. The aim of this design is to make the Max 38 both stylish and easy to clean and with a choice of a variety of different colours, the user can personalise their microwave to suite their kitchen.

Achieve Oven-like Results

3D Technology
Conventional Microwave Distribution / Whirlpool 3D Microwave Distribution
Crisp and Browned Food

Featuring a crisping plate, the Max 38 allows the user to crisp and brown food, allowing for oven-like results. Food such as pizza, when cooked in a conventional microwave will become soggy, whereas in the Max 38, the crisp function will give it a crisp base and a browned top. The crisp plate heats up to 210°C heating the base of your food, whilst the grill at the top of the microwave browns from above.

3D Microwave Distribution Cooking
touch screen

The Max 38 Microwave range comes fitted with Whirlpool’s 3D distribution technology which means that the food can be cooked, steamed and defrosted evenly for safer and faster results. It also means the microwave is more efficient with the power that it is using.

Quick Start and Defrost

Microwave cooking is designed to be quick, so the Max 38 Microwave Range has Jet options for speedy results. One touch of the Jet Start button will trigger the Microwave to heat food for 30 seconds at full power (700W). The Jet Defrost option can defrosts food seven times faster than a conventional microwave heating system and all that is required is to set the weight of the food.

Cooking with Convenience

Memo Function
recipes

The Max 38 Microwave has a memo function which allows the user to store 3 of the most used times and power levels. These can then be started at the push of a button, meaning that time can be saved and the food preparation can be more efficient.

"Wavelicious" Recipes

The user can find recipes to complement the steam Max 38 Microwave on Whirlpool’s recipe mobile application “Wavelicious”.

Features
accessories

The Max 38 Microwave comes with a ferrite crisp plate and crisp-plate handle. The Max 38 also has an ‘end of cooking’ buzzer, interior cavity light, child lock, and a 24-hour digital clock display.

This microwave is more compact but taller than most standard microwaves. I was sceptical about the crisp function but have been surprised to find that it works perfectly. Today I cooked 2 sausages (took 6 and a half mins) and 2 slices of bacon (about 4 mins 45) - the sausages were beautifully cooked and nicely browned, the bacon was crisp without being overcooked or charred and my egg took 1 min 15 secs.

I was more surprised to find that oven chips cooked well in it too, I used marks and spencers fresh (rather than frozen) crinkle cut chips and 3 mins cooking on each side they were perfect, I also had an individual chicken pie and I cooked it for 10 mins, piping hot inside and lightly browned crispy shortcrust pastry.

If you are looking for recipe ideas - there are some recipies on you tube if you search for "max up my cooking". It's also important to read the quick reference guide to understand how the microwave, grill and combi functions work; this will ensure you select the correct function and more importantly to let the crisp plate cool before washing and avoid touching the roof of the oven after the grill has been used. Both get very hot.

I love this microwave to bits as especially the colour and the fact that it goes into the corner. This is the third one I have purchased they last just over the 2 year point and as the warranty is only for 2 years I have to buy another one !!! This is the only corner microwave you can buy this is why I keep buying as it fits in my lovely red kitchen. This time I will take the extra warranty another £61.00 but it will be covered with 5 years parts and labour so will be worth it.

When my wife saw this MAX 38 Crisp microwave she was intrigued my to my disapointment. I thought oh no another peice of kitchen equipment that we do not need as we already had a microwave. Still as us men do to keep our loved ones happy, I purchased one. From the time of purchase to the time of this new MAX 38 arriving wasa shorter period than waiting for a letter to arrive. It was packed so well my wife had to wait for me to come home, it was so tightly packed that I had to be careful how I took the box to peices. Enough of that this is supposed to be a reveiw of the product the "MAX 38 CRISP" the only thing missing was the baby bottle warmer, hey we're retired way past having another family and our grandchildren are past the bottle stage.

The MAX 38 CRISP turned out to be an all-in-one cooker - a grill - obviously a microwave - a combination cooker - and it turns out crispest pizzas you'll ever find - another thing have you ever tried to cook a pie in the microwave oven? Yes they fall flat, not with the MAX 38 CRISP...Click on this link and see for yourself Whirlpool Max 38 Crisp Microwave the one thing we couldn't find was a directions leaflet. Ah I said to my darling wife lets go to the Whirlpool website and see what we can find. Well the MAX 38 CRISP is so new that they haven't yet got the directions for this model online but, isn't there always a 'but' there was a similar model but it was called a "MAX 28 CRISP" so I downloaded the instructions for this model and made up a pamphlet from this. Obviously I had to set up the page so it printed thats easy though all I had to change was the paper size.

We recently installed a new kitchen and as a result we wished to free up as much space within the worktop area as was possible. The one thing with the revised kitchen that had proved an issue was to find a suitable position for a built in microwave, which in the end proved insolvable.

Our existing 1000 watt panasonic microwave did a good job but it was both traditional in shape and looks. I took a long look at what was available. Having completed significant research it soon came apparent that there was only one possible microwave on the market that ticked most of the boxes.However reading some of the reviews several concerns were raised as follows;

1. Potential for mechanical /electrical failure

2. Reduced height of oven aperture

3. Difficult to use and fiddly touch control panel

4. Timer setting difficult due to timer can only be set by repeated pressing the appropriate button to index the cooking time in 30 second increments.

5. Limited detail on the brief operating instructions especially for first time microwave oven users.

6. Oven bleeps loudly and the the glass plate continues to operate after the cooking time is complete until stop button is pressed or the door is opened.

7. Slow cooking time as oven the oven is only 700 watt.

With a relatively significant raft of negative issues I balanced these against a large number of positive reviews and the comments contained therein and purchased the oven about two weeks ago.

What should be stated at this time is the use that we use our microwave oven for. The majority of uses are for heating up drinks in mugs, cooking frozen veg from the freezer, baked potatoes, defrosting deep frozen food ready for use.
