I loved this album, which I discovered from a pile of old LPs my uncle gave me instead of throwing them away, many years after the record had made its first appearance on the market back in '65. I've waited all these years to see it reissued on CD. Such a shame that it had to be packaged in a stupid Digipak!
If only the engineers had done their job at remastering the sound a little, I would tone it down a little. But no... The tape hiss is awful on some of the tracks, especially at the beginning and end of the songs, when the orchestra has not kicked in yet or is fading out. The trumpet sounds weird in some places on ballads, close to the sound you would hear when listening to a worn out vinyl. How can that be?
All in all, very poor job on many aspects, but I believe the worst is still to have used a cheap digipak to present this reissue. These digipaks should be banned!
