Congratulations Lola! I've just finished the book and I absolutely loved it. I am 17 and normally don't like reading, but I bought your book because I liked the sound of it, and I just couldn't put it down. I wish you all the success and I can't wait till you write your next novel. Amy Louise Spink

Lola,
I have just brought you book ready to read on holiday, but I couldn't help but start it, now I can't put it down. I got it after you came to our school to speak to us, the story line you explained just made me want to read it as I lost my dad last year. Good luck you have really inspired me to carry on with my writing and chase my dream.Thank you and good luck, you truly deserve this! All my love and best wishes for the future

There is something about Lola Jaye and her novels that seem to hit home with me!
Once I begin, I can't put them down until I've read it all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting enough Story 24 Aug 2009
By Penzz
Format:Paperback
After having read Lola Jaye's two other books "By the time you read this" and "Reach for the stars" I was eager to get my hands on this book. Its a chick lit kind of story with a plot centred on three sisters and how a terrible incident that befalls one of them brings them closer to one another. Its a story about finding love and family relationships. Personally I think it's not as good as her first novel but it is alright; its certainly readable, funny in some parts and because its based in London its always nice to read about places you know about in the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! 23 July 2011

This is the first of Lola Jaye's books I have read, picked it up in a charity shop as the cover jumped off the shelf at me!
I found this book such a good read, could not put it down and thoroughly enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend to my friends and I am just about to order 'By the time you read this'. Clearly an author who hasn't had enough recognition!

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read 19 Nov 2010
By Amy
Format:Paperback
This is the first book by Lola Jaye that I have read and while it was readable I didn't find it very gripping and felt that the story was relatively simple and not very eventful.

The story is about 3 sisters - one of whom (Lena) ends up in hospital after an accident. The story then progresses to tell how Lena's two sister's, her mother and various other people in Lena's life cope with the aftermath of the accident and the role in which Lena has played in their lives.

I personally would have liked to have got to known the character of Lena more as I feel she was friendliest and most likeable of all the characters that were introduced in the story.

The one criticism I did have about this book is that there are a large number of typing errors throughout, which continued to grow as I progressed further and further through the book but other than that it's an easy to read and fairly enjoyable story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Book review 6 Jun 2010
Format:Paperback
The book is not as good as her first book (which i highly reccomend) but was still enjoyable netherless. It seemed a bit predictable and 'simple'(as in more for a teenager rather than an adult) but it makes you refelct on your life and you find yourself 'involved' in their family - as if your there.
I would reccomend it as the book is alright, but not ideal if your looking for a book that keeps you hooked or makes you want to read it all in one sitting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written 12 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Great book. It is a beautifully written story about sisterhood, forgiveness, sacrifices and plain love. When the older sister has an accident and ends up critically in hospital, her other sisters begin to realise she had a few secrets of her own. They begin to see their own flaws and learn to turn their lives around, be less selfish. A great reunion with their mother, revelations about their father. The book is just beautiful, everything about it. The ending is beautiful...a little unrealistic, but beautiful nonetheless. I'll defintely be looking out for more books by Lola Jaye.
