I am looking to purchase a dslr camera for the purpose of fashion photography. I have narrowed my criteria down and am thinking of a Nikon D90. Are there any Canons , or Nikons out there that would be more suitable. My budget is £1000 for body only , I am willing to spend a lot on lenses.
Please leave any suggestions , help would be much appreciated.
Hi, If you are starting out then a D90 would be fine, spend the majority of your money on lenses and if you want to do studio work then lighting such as studio flash kit. I use Canon myself but for fashion work pretty much any camera body is fine, its the lenses and lighting that make the most difference. One thing to bare in mind is if you want to try your hand at video as well then I would recommend a Canon 600D or 60D. Budget for lenses such as 50mm, 85mm and perhaps a 70-200mm, that would cover most situations. For studio flash I would go for something like the Elinchrom DLite kit around £550. Hope that all helps ! Mark
