Great book, with any child who loves animals ready to potty train will warm to. Our 3 yr old thinks the last page is the funniest thing ever and it makes him laugh every time. Sturdy flaps allow for good child involvement, only downside is use of word "Poop", and generally very American language. We just change the words to English ones and it's a big hit!

When my son turned 2 years old, I introduced him to the potty. After some success in the first day, he later refused to use the potty (he seemed scared to look at his poo in the potty). So I stopped. A few days later I read this book to him, and he liked it almost instantly. I also told him that the boy in the book is him, and he liked that idea very much. 2 weeks later, he started using the potty by himself (pee and poo) and was no longer scared.
I think the Babybjorn potty, Tippitoes Toilet Trainer Seat, and this book are all contributing to this result.

Bought for a reluctant toilet pooper. Have yet to see any change, but getting him to talk about poo might just help.

A few days later and success! FINALLY!!!!! First poo on the toilet.
Also used a netmums tip about getting them to blow up a balloon while sitting on the toilet. Uses the same muscles apparently.
Thanks AMAZON, a new toilet seat (cars), a few books on the subject of poo, a balloon, and the promise of a surprise (precious petzzz) if he goes has worked wonders where no amount of stickers, stars, bribes, and pleading have worked before.
