Biography

Zomby is both a purist and a perfectionist. One of the most
talented producers of a generation and someone capable of negotiating skilfully between genres, be it jungle, dubstep, rave,
garage or whatever tag you want to put on it. Couple this
with the numerous and incredible 12”s, EPs and remixes that
have been aired over the past five years and it’s clear just

I was 11 going on 12 in 1992 and I was well into my rave and jungle at the time. this album takes me right back and floods my mind with memories of a sound thats since become watered down and clean. The dirty old breaks of the early 90's run through this album and it's impossible not to move to them.

If you were a junglist or a raver back in the day then you have to own this. Only one or two tracks made me cringe and thats when it leaned towards the house/hardcore sound but the rest is sublime.

Really good album, showcasing what the 90's were all about. Not sure if it'll stand up to repeated listening though.

The genius of this album is that it came out in 2008, Zomby wasn't releasing music in '92. You could travel back in time to 1992 with this, take the credit, be hailed as a musical revolutionary and no one would ever suspect you stole it from the future!
It's that convincing, brilliantly nostalgic but built with modern concepts of techno and dubstep we take for granted today. You will want to dance.

tribute to early 90s house/rave scene 3 July 2010
By Nicholas Pastura - Published on Amazon.com
This album is certainly different than Zomby's other releases and its meant to be. This is a tribute to early 90s house and the rave scene and its a thilling tribute at that. If your into dance music from that era then you should absolutely check this out, but fans of more upbeat dubstep should dig this too. If your not into the dancey, house kind of sound then check out his other work for trippier, less peppy grooves.

Remarkably mainstream for so fascinatingly underground an artist 24 Dec. 2009
By Scott Woods - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Like a number of underground cats finally finding their way into "proper" debut releases in the last few years, Zomby gives us a record that, when compared to much of his genre isn't bad, but compared to much of his output isn't quit rocking.

This record has a sheen of the rave on it that isn't so prevalent in the tracks he was known for prior to this release. This is an ongoing problem with underground cats who step-up career-wise: their best songs have been released as EPs or singles and their "debuts" go wanting.

Mind you, a just-okay Zomby rcord is still better than a lot of dubstep/house cats regardless, and if you don't know anything about Zomby, this record isn't likely to turn you off. but if you come to Zomby through songs like "The Lie" or "Godzilla" or "Helter Skelter" or the truly sick-and-banging-yet-less-generally-danceable "Aquafresh", this record may seem like a step to the left when a right would do.

Meh 22 Mar. 2010
By Richard Magill - Published on Amazon.com
I have to agree with the other reviewer... this is not the Zomby I know and love, he seems to have made a wrong turn with this album. Don't let that bring him down though!! I recommend trying his EP or One Foot Ahead of the Other for some nice spacey, blippy, Zomby goodness.
