I bought a selection of Christmas books to take into a school that I have been on student placement in, and I got them for 6/7 year olds. This one was a favourite - when put on the bookshelf in their book corner, it was picked up more than any other and they all, particularly the girls, loved it. One made a comment that it was so pretty and sparkly and she wanted to keep it forever! The beautiful illustrations and, yes, the glitter, really caught the childrens' eyes and they were hooked instantly. Add to that a very lovely story that they keep asking you questions about because they're so interested and you've got a complete winner. It's hard to find a book that all the children in a class will like, but I think this one managed it!

I purchased this book for my four-year old as she brought a copy home on loan from the school library and loved it so much.
The book is beautifully illustrated and a lovely story for small children, just perfect for bedtime.

Cute Animals in Polar Regions 19 Nov 2009
By George C. Swan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Colorful illustrations bring to life different animals that live in the polar regions of the world. Written in verse, the book is filled with great adjectives which describe both the terrain of the snow and ice lands, and the wonderfully unique animals that inhabit them. The illustrations enhance the story giving children a desire to hold and cuddle such cute furry friends. The book would be a great support to show the icy habitats of the polar regions.
