I have always bought the updated edition every year - the 2011 version is the first time that the book has been reduced in content, a number of key resorts have been removed and it feels like a lazy, quick update. This is a shame as it has always previously been worth buying even though just mainly an update to the previous years version. I think the 2010 version was better value than the 2011 version.

Great guide 1 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
Very well constructed guide, essential for those who cannot read the German ADAC ski bible.

One comment is that no distinction is made in the Snow category between resorts that often suffer from green slopes and those that never do, but may have lower quality snow due to southern exposure and lowish altitude. This particularly concerns my favorite resort of Saalbach, which gets a lot of snow due to its 'first dibs' position on the Northern flank, but where the south-facing slopes often have white ice or slush, especially in March. This makes it a hundred times better than almost all other medium level resorts which often have no snow at all, or rocky conditions, or cannon-generated ice. High resorts such as StMo regularly have no snow, as well. And Saalbach cannot be compared to the typical low-level (700m) Austrian resort.

Skiing made easy 5 Feb 2011
By sueski
Format:Paperback
This is the best ski guide to use if you are an independent skier trying to book a ski holiday without the "package". The book gives brilliant information about accomodation, as well as detailling the resort facilities. I particularly like the information given to the reader about the facilities for families and the guide includes useful information about the type of ski runs in each resort. Other such books are not as practically useful.
