Good Information, but written in Britain! 14 Mar. 2012
By Nomda Ploom - Published on Amazon.com

As I said in the title, all the information in this book is good; however it is written from a British perspective. It is assumed, however, that anyone wanting to retire in Great
Britain would be fairly familiar with many of the locations that are covered. Not everything is pertinent, but enough to make the book a valuable tool to anyone considering retiring to England.
We're not retiring, but like the budget-minded advice 2 May 2013

We're an American husband & wife who'd like to move to Britain. I'm a self-employed author and artist, and I can support both of us. So, with the freedom to live anywhere, we're looking at England as our permanent home. Climate, history, cultural opportunities, and sheer beauty are among the many appealing features of England.

What I like about this book, "Where to Retire in Britain," is the variety of viewpoints and recommendations in this book. Many of them apply to us as a couple too young to retire, but interested in quiet areas (so I can focus on my writing) that also offer stylish, comfortable living on a budget.

I've bought many books about moving to England. So far, this is among the very best.

I highly recommend it whether you're retiring to Britain, or moving there for a more relaxed lifestyle... on a budget.

Very interesting book 24 Jan. 2010

A little dated, a fair amount of the advice herein is dependent on the relationship between the pound and dollar. On the other hand, it provided information which allowed us to rule out the possibility of being able to retire in the UK.

An Aweful Book 22 April 2014
By jcphoto - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This might be okay for someone that wants to live in some sleepy seaside town or West Country village but for anyone that wants to live in a city or town of substantial size it's terrible. How about a book for those of us that are not afraid of being with other people and would really like to live in a place with a decent modern public transportation system? How about providing some information on renting a home or flat instead of buy, buy, buy? The format is bad and as it's copyright 2008 that means that the latest date on most of the information is 2007 so it's out-of-date in a lot of ways.
