About the Author

K.J.Rabane has written for local newspapers, had short stories published in magazines and an anthology of crime fiction, in addition to which she's written television scripts for an on-going drama series, which is ready for submission. She is also a commissioned contributor to the Food & Drink Guide and works as a freelance 'extra' for film and television productions. Her main interest is in writing crime fiction and psychological thrillers but her novel According to Olwen falls into neither category. All her books are full of idiosyncratic characters and her crime fiction novels are plot driven. Her poem Luminous socks was a finalist in the 2012 All Wales Poetry Competition and Who is Sarah Lawson? reached the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award 2013 Competition Quarter Finals. I have been a huge fan of Rabane's since I've read her book, "Who is Sarah Lawson". I love intriguing books with interesting plots which have so many twists and turns that you lose count, and Rabane's books do exactly that!
The story in this book is told from different angles of the different characters, who are all intriguing and will keep you guessing till the end, as you try to figure them out.
I could not put the book down and just when I thought I guessed what happened to Jason Rayner, it turned out my guesses were wrong, and this kept me intrigued all the way through.
I thoroughly recommend this book, and also the other books by the author - a must read if you enjoy psychological thrillers!

A very well plotted mystery which keeps up the pace and the reader's interest until the very end. The cleverly woven story, narrated by three different characters, unfolds in the town of Lockford and beyond, and is another case for PI Richie Stevens and his sidekick Sandie. Their relationship, developed from Who is Sarah Lawson, provides an additional interest to fans of KJ Rabane's books.
Although this book doesn't have the well-observed description of setting that characterises A Trick of the Light, it is very strong on plot and extremely well crafted.
Those seeking to be baffled, intrigued and teased by the story will not be disappointed.

Brilliant book I could not put it down. The first book I read by this Author was Who Is Sarah Lawson which I downloaded by chance. It stayed unread on my Kindle for a few months but I was hooked from the first page. Unputdownable I read it in 2 days and am looking forward to reading more by this Author

Loved this story. I have previously read one other book by the same writer and this prompted me to purchase this one.

It was entertaining enough, although parts were a little too far fetched but it's fiction. I do feel certain events were dragged out too much for no apparent reason. With a little tightening in parts, this could have easily given the big thriller names a run for their money.

I usually don't notice if a author is not that great a writer if the storytelling is good, however I feel with author that she grabs an idea and keeps adding to that idea so in the end u have lots of ideas that don't really tally, she ties things up by coincidences which she even states in the book...this is full of coincidences the detective explains, yes isn't it ! I gave it a go but felt I was reading good A level students work,

Again, a wonderful book by KJ Rabane. While at a first glance her books might look quite unprofessional (e.g. The book covers that look like they were done in MS Word 5 years ago; the typos at points), beyond that lies another exciting and well-written thriller that far outstrips many of those more 'polished' books going for 10 times the price. Cannot recommend this author highly enough.
