The book doesn't deal with death but is written in such a style that it naturally leads onto that subject which can be introduced at your own pace and how you want to raise it. The children love it being read to them and the missing 'socks' just goes on and on -great fun because I have never had the answer to that one.Anyway it's trendy now to wear odd soaks!

The English version of this book is as good the Portuguese original. The design is clear, simple and very convincing.

Excellent picture book on the subject of change and loss 26 Feb. 2014
By TGL - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
On the surface, it's about hiding under the bed, lost socks, and puddles that evaporate to become clouds. But the subtext is about permanent change and the loss of things and people we love. The subject, which kids ask about frequently, is handled with refreshing optimism, imagination and honesty. The art is simple, but adds to the poetry of each page. Like any great book, it provokes thinking rather than giving pat answers. Like any great kid's book, there's plenty for adults to contemplate as well.

wonderful book 30 Sept. 2013

LIghthearted book with a serious question. Deals with real question age appropriately. I really liked it's poetic nature. It gave me ideas on how I would like to talk to my little boy about how nothing lasts forever...it just changes...and that can be beautiful. Lovely graphics too.
Highly recommend this book 23 Mar. 2015

Highly recommend this book, which is sweet for any age, yet very sophisticated at the same time. It gracefully explores the idea of loss, in general, but in a gentle way that isn't condescending.
