I had heard great things about this book, but until I sat down and read it I could`nt imagine how well written it is.
Ritual abuse is not a topic tackled by many, and Laurie Matthews and those she works with in her writing are a great reminder of the strength that can be taken from the least humane situations.
The book does not sensationalise ritual abuse, but is honest without the need to shock the reader.
As a "survivor" of ritual abuse, there are more than enough horrors within my own memory. This book is very "safe" in the way it is written, since the author has a gift for writing in very every day language.
I would recommend this book to others who are trying to find their way out of RA situations, as well as those who care for people who are surviving the consequences of ritual abuse.
Highly recommended! The profits made from this book go to an organisation directly involved in supporting young women who are, and have been at risk of abuse, in many forms. There is a possibility of her writing a follow up to this book, which I hope she does. I`ll certainly be buying it.
Huge thanks to the author!
