I have listened to blues, progressive rock and hard rock since the 60s but, as each new decade hits me, I feel guilty as I feel that I should give it up because of my age. I am now 62 - should I continue to listen to this music until I am 65 or even older?
lan - When I was young I claimed to like jazz - Parker, Miles, Sonny - that sort of thing, but now I realise that I needed to mature into that brand of music. But I still enjoy listening to many other types of music including rock and I'm nearer 70 than 60. Like the blessed John Peel said there are only two types of music, good music and bad music i.e. music you like and music you don't. If someone said to me you're too old to listen to (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac or the Dead or the Stones, I'd spit in their eye (as long as they stood still and weren't too far away).
