4.0 out of 5 stars Child Friendly, 6 Jul 2007
By Vonnie75 (Jersey) - See all my reviews
A lovely book that in a very simple way provides young children coping stategies to deal with anxieties and stress caused by unexpected changes in routines, etc. This book was previously published under the title 'When My Autism Gets Too Big!'

5.0 out of 5 stars a simple but effective book, 30 Jan 2008

I have an autistic son in mainstream school who is 7, and this book is perfect for his level of understanding to how to manage his anxiety in class. We find schhool is where he is most anxious and I have given the book to his LSA to help them both understand. Some pages are work book style and they can draw what makes them anxious etc. I would say it's best for primary aged children, who have problems communicating how they feel or what upsets them.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little expensive........., 8 April 2008

I think this book is a little bit expensive for what it is.

However, the content is simple, easy to read and "get across" to my ASD child with speech & language problems.

The techniques are simple but effective. I don't regret buying this book and I will be letting my friends at my support group have a look at it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A short but helpful book
A short but helpful book which is most useful for younger primary aged children. Most helpful for those who struggle to cope with 'change' rather than general anxiety.
