Product Description

CD Description

The debut album from 20-year-old singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Steve Appleton, When The Sun Comes Up takes inspiration from an array of genres including pop, rock, funk and dance, Steve Appleton has an ear for tune, an eye for an incredible live show and single-handedly wrote and produced his entire album. His debut single "Dirty Funk" gave people the perfect introduction to Steve Appleton; a bright, young, up-coming star whose debut album When The Sun Comes Up is a true breath of originality. It’s an album based around genuine life experiences, singing about everything from funky venues to one night stands and travelling the world. Steve was born and raised in Surrey, and from the age of fifteen was playing piano in a swanky Soho eatery performing his own material and covers from the likes of Elton John to Frank Sinatra. The day after signing his record deal with RCA he disappeared inter-railing for a month before knuckling down to finish his debut album whilst his friends went off to university. Since then Steve has furthered his travels with publicity shoots and shows in Miami, LA, Shanghai and Cape Town and has also performed alongside the likes of John Legend, The Saturdays and Alesha Dixon.

I really like this album. Bought it for my daughter, but I listen to it in the car too. I'd say it was a mix of funk & rock. Every song is great to listen to and sing along to. Best ones are Dirty Funk, When the Sun comes up, City Won't Sleep... Oh they're all good.
Get it & hear for yourself.

...and you can't normally say that! This is truly one of the best albs I've heard in a long time, have it on repeat in the car - Steve is amazingly talented! He wrote and produced the whole thing. Real funk and jazz vibe running right through this; just have to put this on and it could be summer :) Stand out tracks: The Bright Side, When the Sun Comes up, Seeing Stars and City Won't Sleep. Great debut!
