Fabulous series of books looking at some emotionally driven issues that some children experience. Would highly recommend to families troubled by these issues but also to professionals supporting children in this situation.

A Good Guide 4 Mar 2007

This is a good supplement, especially when working with children and adolescents. It works well with younger children, and can be adapted for adolescents. It gives the child a different way to learn and communicate the changes they are experiencing, and as a therapist I've been able to build on that to better assist my clients. I have several of the Heegaard books and i've found all of them useful in that way.
Emotional support for children. 4 Oct 2011

Workbooks covering difficult topics can be effective for some children. Visiting a hospital can be intimidating to adults, it can be terrifying to a child. This workbook has helped young children to begin the process of visiting a loved one who has been seriously injured or who is seriously ill. It helps children who aren't willing to talk about their feelings to express them through writing or drawing.
