2.0 out of 5 stars mediocre true life movie.. 8 Aug 2012
By babyday
Keri russell plays highschooler Erica who has just had a baby.Erica & the babys father Scott have already decided that they are putting the baby up for adoption, only when Erica gives birth she changes her mind & keeps her.Forward to a year,Erica wants Scott to be a part of their childs life only it turns out to be a big mistake when she finds herself caught up in a custody battle.
A very mediocre true life movie where not much happens,by the time it reached the custody battle i was well & truely bored!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keri Russell is perfect for this role 1 July 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Keri Russell (known more for her long hair and baby looks) is just perfect for this role. The story is of a young teen couple (so much in love) that have a baby together. Both still at school, sacrifices have to be made, and she seems to be making most of them. The mothers' of the couple have their own say and interfere (under the 'only trying to help' motto) which causes tensions to mount and an inevitable break-up of the young partnership. This is when the film really gets going. One sues the other and vice-versa for custody of the child, and the tension racks up continually until the final court hearing. I won't go deeper into the plot so as not to spoil your enjoyment, but it ends with a small twist in the tail. As far as teen US romantic dramas go this is a cut above average. Keri Russell plays her role of teenager mother very well but is just a little too self-assured for a person so young in this situation. However, perhaps she's just mature for her age. She has a very supportive mother (so understanding) that sticks with her through thick and thin. It is refreshing to have a thought provoking rather than tear-jearking ending, so no need for the tissues. A good watch as long as you accept how the film makers usually gloss over the true daily realities of bringing up a child - let alone as a single young mother. In my opinion this warrants a solid 7 out of 10 for entertainment and 9 out of 10 for value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly moving movie. 18 April 2012
By Suzanne Welling - Published on
I've shown this movie to all my best friends. Keri Russell is amazing as Erica French. It's honestly one of my favorite performances of hers. Many people fight with custody battles in their lives and many also have to raise a child at a young age. It's incredibly tough and this movie really captures that feeling. I highly recommend this movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Movie for a rainy afternoon 6 Sep 2012

this movie will not win any awards but it does give you a perspective of how we can cause a lot of our own problems from not allowing people to help us and take counsel from others. It shows us that woman still have a very high mountain to climb when it comes to being treated as equals with men.

Surprised by this movie,Keri Russell plays a young woman who becomes pregnant and has a child. However as time goes, the parents of the babys father wants to get the custody for her child.

Keri Russell gives a great performance and the movie is way above average for a lifetime movie.
