Format:Hardcover
An amazing story giving a narrative of some of the most fascinating periods of the war, from the position of a subultern in the Welsh Guards who also served on Monty's staff. Involved in training in France for the Norwegian Campaign, in the Commandos,a founder member of the SAS and an aide de camp for Montgomery for a long period. In Tobruk, on two SAS raids, captured and imprisoned in Italy. escaped and rejoined to take part in the European Campaign as Monty's aide. Involved in the hand over of Cossacks to the Russians in Italy, and many perceptive comments of operations at the tactical and strategic levels. Facinating.
