Having read the Conversations with God books, I was a little surprised by the style of this one, as it's less of a conversation, although NDW does try to inject a personal style, but I found it less engaging and sometimes patronising. Having said that, the content is excellent, and although it's a rational look at the non-rational, it does present a clear picture of how the mind and the soul operate, and how to understand the repeated patterns that we often experience, and how to interrupt them, and make change a less painful experience. I found his model for the 'mechanics of the soul' a little convoluted, with similar terminology to the 'mechanics of the mind' (e.g. truths and beliefs), but it still works for me, and will serve as an extremely helpful reference book, when (or if) I find myself in a painful 'stuck' place again.
