Product Description

Product Description

You only need to watch any cat on the prowl to know that these sinister beasts are silent, deadly killers. But, until now the extent of their skills have gone unnoticed by humans. However, following years of undercover research using hidden cameras and the latest espionage equipment, David Watts now lifts the lid on the secret world of feline assassins. Within this amazing book are actual photographs of tabbies with high-velocity sniper rifles, ninja moggies armed with throwing stars and samurai swords, revengeful Siamese bent on destruction, and Persians with poison on their mind. Including explosive documentary evidence that it was a kitty that killed President Jack Russell Terrier this book is set to shake the world to its foundations and strike fear into the hearts of dogs and small rodents everywhere. So, next time you chastise Tiddles for scratching the furniture or Ginger for taking your favourite chair, have some respect. It is entirely possible that Tiddles or Ginger will whip out a magnum and whack you. This hysterical book will appeal to cat owners everywhere. None of whom will be surprised to see photographic evidence of what has been long suspected.

Not for Dog Lovers 9 Dec 2005
This is a superb, wickedly funny book, full of graphic gems - the kind of things people e.mail you as m.pegs or gifs but given a darker treatment. Though, clearly they didn't put a stuffed cat at the side of the railway track, the photo retouching work is pretty good - as are some of the background jokes that they've worked in. On the strength of this I bought Gnomes of the Silver Screen, which is even better. Everyone I've shown it to loves it - apart from someone who owned two labradors who thought it was "sick and pointless". Labrador owners for you.

It's OK... It's not the funniest book out there, but a few of the (heavily photoshopped) pictures make you chuckle... This book sits in my downstairs toilet and is perfect size and silly subject for that environment - of toilet literature.

It's something you can dip in and out of. The writing that accompanies the pictures is quite sharp too and the book is well presented in a good quality hard back cover. All in all, not as funny as I'd hoped - but it's OK.

The main problem I have with this book, is just how much the pictures and scenes have been photoshopped. Now that may sound obvious, but I was expecting pictures of cat, with minor alterations too them. What we get, are scenes with cats photoshopped into them: For instance a combine harvester with a cat cut & pasted into the driving seat - chasing a dog through a corn field.
For me the better and funnier pictures where the ones that were much more natural, but these - unfortunately - were few and far between.

If you found this review helpful, please give it the thumbs up-if not comment on why so I can do a better job for you next time. Thanks :-)

A very funny read, well not alot of reading is involved but the pictures are hilarious. Good for cat lovers with warped humour.
