Product Description

In book 1 you were introduced to Robin and Jason; a talented young man with cerebral palsy and his introverted caregiver. Their dawning love transcended their racial and social difference. Now in book 2 Jason and Robin along with the other member of Wheels of Steel find themselves spiraling away from each other. The ultimate question that each of them will face is; can there be forgiveness after betrayal?

Wheels of Steel is 3 part saga that is more than just an interracial love story. It is a journey of music, love, betrayal and trust. This story contains graphic sex and language and is intended for mature readers only.

About the Author

Pepper Pace is the pen named used by author Kim Chambers, a name that she has penned for her unique brand of Interracial/multicultural erotic romance. While her stories span the gamut from humorous to heartfelt, the common theme is crossing racial boundaries. Stories written under the Pepper Pace brand often deal with taboo situations. Readers find themselves questioning their own sense of right and wrong, attraction and desire. The author believes that an erotic romance should first begin with romance and only then does she offers a look behind the closed doors to the passion. Kim Chambers lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where many of her stories take place. She has a son and daughter, two dogs and a cat. She writes in the genres of science fiction, youth, horror, street lit and poetry. She is a member of several online role-playing groups and hosts several blogs. In addition to writing, the author is also an artist, an introverted recluse, a self proclaimed empath and a foodie.

More About the Author

Most know me from I have been fortunate to have developed a following of readers that enjoy my brand of story telling. I don't believe that you will find many writers like myself. My stories are multi-cultural (or interracial) and are never predictable. I enjoy keeping my readers on the edge! My characters are African American women involved in unlikely relationships outside of their race.

It might be an understatement to say that I write 'outside' of the box. My tales include romances between people that are sometimes opposites, some have disabilities, some are dealing with issues of loss or low self-esteem. In other words I write about real people who deal with everyday issues.

Now before you say that you read in order to be carried away into a fantasy world that allows you to leave yours behind, let me add that the stories I enjoy writing, as well as reading, deal with relatable characters. If you prefer stories that are filled with millionaires and super gorgeous people...I might not be the right fit. My stories include people born with facial defects, mental illness, identity crisis just to name a few.

My stories are for adults only because I use very frank language and descriptions and erotic situations. However my books cross the gamet from sweet romance to raunchy sexiness.

Don't be surprised if you read a Pepper Pace story and find yourself laughing one minute and crying the next. Enjoy, and thank you for stopping by!

Good love story but am not impressed. I read your explanation but still believe it should have been left as one book. It's not that long.
I also think many times, too much time was spent writing about her care giving duties, by this I mean too much detail was given each time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tightly packed story 14 Aug 2012
By Trickle Tree VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book. It flowed effortly from book one which I also loved. It is full of romance, twists and turns and fantastic to see not just thee blooming romance between Jason and Robin but also the blooming friendships as well. The intricacy of how trust plays a very strong role in all of their relationships, weaving itself around each character and then tightening and tightening until they cannot breathe.

It is fantastically written, my only negative critisism on that score would be Ms Pace's attention to too much detail regarding dreary chores. I also whish that in the furture she could may be do a public play list on you tube of the songs referenced as they are not songs I am familar with but the enthusiasm of the characters did make me want to find out more.

I will definantely read more Pepper Pace's books and look forward to her challenging our conception of what a romance book should be about.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Series - 3 Books in all 7 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love this author, I love how she can write a love story about people with all kinds of obstacles to over come. I normally love all her leading men because they are always lovable, even if they create some drama its always because they love their woman so much. I did not fall in love with Jason at all. I thought he was mean and childish. I totally loved Robin and she demonstrated the characteristics of how someone truly in love behaves. She becomes a little Ghetto and bares her teeth to Jason and shows him she won't put up with is rubbish which I loved.

The series is well written and engaging. I just did not take to Jason at all which is so unusual with her leading men, I usually always love them. Highly recommend the series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than 1st installment... 15 Feb 2014
By Princess Nhya - Published on

This 2nd installment to the WOS Saga, was certainly more interesting, IMO than the 1st book. There were a lot of things that occurred here that felt more authentic. That touched me more in a way that did not include irritating me. Though there were those moments in this book as well. But over all, I felt it was a great continuation when it comes to digging deeper into the main & secondary characters, & their journey.

I absolutely HATE however, how this one ended. And I can't for the life of me reconcile how Jason would even behave or react in such a way, given the circumstances, drunk or not. It just didn't feel at all like something that would likely or possibly occur with him. Not digging that at all. It just felt VERY contrived for shock factor/cliffhanger sake.

Having said that, thank goodness I have book 3 on my kindle already so I can dive right into it.

I would recommend this read, but I highly recommend that you read this in order. It's a saga with an on going plot dealing with the same characters. Main & secondary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivatingly real 3 April 2012
By Stephanie - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First and foremost, this is a 3 part series and I highly recommend reading all three parts before reviewing. Ms. Pepper's has done an extrodinary job of keeping everything real and truthfull in regards to relationships and the unexpected reality of disabilities seen and unseen. Patty, Tramp Stamp, Top, Link and the female lead blew the roof off of any other interracial romances and friendships that I have read. You will laugh, cry and get down right angry at times but their is an element of truth that we all can relate to from the time of being in our twenties whether going to college or not. I loved that it was so imperfect as we all are. I learned alot about a disability that I have a working knowledge of from being in the medical field. I can't express how touched and awed I am about how unobservant we can be about those around us in passing on a daily basis. I can say I am definitely more aware of others even if they do not have an outward disability. All deformities are not visible and can only be seen by our true loves heart. It is not a matter of time but being open to the ups and downs of love, friendship and parenting.

I really enjoyed all of the story even when I totally disagreed with each of the characters choices. It is a lesson of acceptance and understanding that choices are made in the heat of the moment and the long term consequences can hit and devistate not long after the follow through of decision that cannot be undone. Be open to the experience of learning something about those with physical disabilities, about yourself, and preconceived notions that may be changed for the better.

Massive praise for the entire 3 part series. You will fall in love and walk that fine line of love and hate just like we do in real relationships. Be prepared to have your eys opened.

Absolutely love these books. Made me take the time to learn about Jason's illness. No one can make a disabled character as sexy as Pepper.
4.0 out of 5 stars Maturing With Each Installment 31 Mar 2014

I am really loving the WOS story! In book two, all of the characters are really starting to mature. Robin and Jason still have a ways to go but this is to be expected given the issues which plague them both. Moving on to WOS 3!
