The complete first series of the popular motoring show.

Host and auto veteran Mike Brewer joins forces with mechanic Edd China to rebuild retro road stars in the first instalment of the hit motoring series Wheeler Dealers.

With a budget of £1000 and one week to complete each car, Mike and Edd use their expertise to save the classics from an uncertain fate. First Mike hits the car auctions, sales forecourts and classifieds looking for a motor that comes within his budget and has some star quality.

Once he s made his purchase its back to the garage where Edd gets to work on turning a rundown relic into a dream machine. Then, when the work is done, Edd hands the car back to Mike who must get the best price he possibly can for the motor.

Porsche 924

If you grew up in the 70s and 80s and loved the cars from that era, you will love these cars being expertly reconditioned to their former glory !!!!

The format is enjoyable, light, entertaining, and if you are mechanically useless (like myself), the education on how cars work is just at the right level, Ed avoids jargon and getting over technical ....explaining all tasks perfectly for the lay person ...Mikes cockney charm and "wide boy" nature adds amusement value !!!

A word to the wise : in 'THE WORKS' shop i just bought series 1&2 box set ( 12 episodes on 6 dvds ) for £7.99 !!!!

It's funny, humorous and interesting to look at this strange junction of two very different people doing motor business. The first is a cunning man who search and shops cheap old cars generally of prestige brands theoretically yet for scrapping only, but he ever is capable to sees some possibilities of restoring where another people don't see nothing.
In the other side there's these tough wise mechanic, working hard to finish in a completely new restored car. In this class of films, it's clear, the most tedious and long tasks are no doubt very shortened as the work has to be devilish. You need not only know more or less how a car works (many people still thinks there's a magical genius under the top).
And so, the wise fusion of business & physical- mechanical mastery for the most rare cars, does this series interesting and amusing.
In Spain we have two rare cars generally in museums, the old luxury Hispano- Suiza from the first quarter of XX century, exclusive at his time as a Rolls-Royce, and the sport car Pegaso, only were made about 90 units, comparable to a sport Jaguar of 1950 decade. I should wish to be restores these two cars in this DVDs.

As a self confessed Wheeler Dealers addict, I ordered all ten of the boxed series sets. These DVDs contain the thoroughly entertaining programmes that are repeatedly broadcast on Discovery and so I looked forward to receiving them with much anticipation.

Unfortunately, there were major disappointments with Series 1 to 4. The DVDs of these particular series are not in 16:9 format. They are in 4:3 format with a widescreen picture letterboxed inside. When I say ‘widescreen’, it is more widescreenish. The picture is not in 16:9 format, it looks more like 13:9.

I do not understand why the DVDs of Series 1 to 4 have been issued in this format. My confusion is greater when I recall that when the programmes on these DVDs are actually broadcast on Discovery they are in 16:9 format.

I had so much wanted to give each series a 5 star rating. However, due to the big let down from the aspect ratio of Series 1 to 4, I can only give them a 3 star rating. As far as Series 5 to 10 are concerned, then it’s 5 stars all the way.
