My nearly 4 year old twins chose this book at our local public library and we've renewed it twice. It delighted us all so much that we have decided to buy two copies from Amazon, one for twins and one for their cousin whose mother is a vegan!

The colourful illustrations show the suspense and fear on each of the animal's faces. The sing-song rhyme of the story makes it simple for even the less theatrical amongst us to get into true "Jackanory" expression when reading to your child, grandchild or friend's children.

The story is based on the old Folk tale "What's the time Mr Wolf?", a game I recall playing in my primary school playground but the ending is quite unlike the "time to eat you" scenario that we remember.

Not for the carnivorous but recommended by our family as a true all time favourite. I shall save it for my grandchildren and their children
