I've always been concerned about the huge list of E-numbers on the back of some food products. What actually are E-numbers and what are they doing to my body?

This handy pocket sized book (which fits nicely in a handbag) turned out to be a great buy which tells you all about E numbers used in food and cosmetics.

Using a simple 'traffic-light' colour coded system, safe E numbers are highlighted in green, with more questionable ones in yellow and red.

Full names and descriptions also help to give a great insight into what is really in your basket!

This book has an exhaustive list of products for both food aditives and cosmetic ingredients. Pick it up and take a look at how many carcinogens and teratogens exist in the products you use every day. I personally keep it with me every time i go shopping, people look at me like im weird when i read the label but the last laugh will literally be mine. I threw out most of my cosmetic products and some of my food because they contained additives i knew nothing about. You will be surprised at how many dangerous chemicals we consume in products deemed as 'safe'. Think that you are living healthy? Think again! You can't live without this book!

A handy book to have with you when shopping. I found it time-consuming at first but persevered and now its use is almost automatic. Over time you get to recognise the common e-numbers and what they indicate and in a surprisingly short time you don't need to refer to it. Nowadays my copy lives in the car so I can check if I find something exotic which I don't recognise. I've awarded 4 stars. The only drawback is that it doesn't seem to have occurred to the authors to provide a laminated card with the book. E Number and chemical. Perhaps they'll do that for the second edition ?
