I read this on the bus to work in the morning and it really cheered me up. I loved the characters, thought that it was very wittily written, enjoyed the descriptions of London and Notting Hill, and I especially loved the whole Tom Jones theme running through it. It's a simple story of girl meets boy, but the author has used a sharp eye and clever observations to make this romance stand out from all the rest.

I read this book whilst on holiday in Sri Lanka with my best mate. I bought it at the airport, as I was very attracted to the front cover which is bright and bubbly! it was such a good read i have read it a few times as i have had it a couple of years. Is a brilliant book for young women and tells the story of a girl called Delilah who leaves her old home, boyfriend and all sorts! would definatly reccommend this book!

I read this book from cover to cover over just 2 nights. After only a few pages, I was hooked!

The book tells the story of Delilah a twenty something fed up with her average life in Bradford, wanting to leave behind all she has ever known and finally start to live! Delilah decides to go to London, on the wild notion that she may meet up with "Charlie" whom she dreams can take her away from everything. However, she doesn't anticipate on meeting the sex-mad Vivienne or wonderful Sam, who take her under their wing.

The characters are so easy to identify with, and Delilah's observations of London life are particularly amusing and so so true! Delilah puts her observations into words which you find yourself identifying with. It is written in such an honest and funny way that you find yourself nodding, agreeing and laughing out loud in so many places. It is this which makes the book so enjoyable. It is the perfect Summer read - take it to the beach, read it on the train - you'll find yourself giggling out loud! It doesn't matter that you find yourself thinking "I know what's going to happen. She's going to fall in love with....! because you may not be right and even if you are, you'll just enjoy reading all about the twists, turns, ups and downs of how Delilah gets there!

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great story told with such warmth and humour.

A re-release
I like Alex Potters books, but only the latter ones.. I find the early ones a little too dull, the plots and characters wishy-washy, and her writing style not so good. Read more
